I think I have an overbite and my teeth are wonky. Would Invisalign be a good option?

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I’m a 20 year old female considering Invisalign braces. None of my teeth from canine to canine touch and my front teeth are a bit wonky. Would they be any good? There is a good 5mm gap between them and I think I have an overbite too.,

Is it possible that the treatment I want will actually work?

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010
Q.
Doctor, I have a what you call a ‘complete overbite’. Dentists tried to correct my top inward pointing teeth with a bridge when I was in school (I’m now 44). Obviously, way back then the technology that exists today wasn’t around, and I suffered painfully wearing this awful thing for absolutely nothing! I recently consulted an orthdontist who does porcelain veneers which are glued to your own teeth to correct my smile as I’ve always been very conscious of my uneven, inward pointing, gappy teeth. (My front teeth have roots at an angle so normal veneers were not an option I found out) He showed me how it cud look, and also said that he cud alleviate my problem caused to my lower gum when my top teeth bite deep into it, by making my bite stop just above the bottom gum line. This sounds all too good to be true for me as I never thought there was a solution for my particular case. Is this possible?,

I’m wearing braces again to fix my overbite again, will they fix it this time?

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010
Q.
ok, well so what happened was that I’ve been wearing braces for almost about …..2 and a half years before I got them removed. Then later I started wearing a retainer, (but only at nights). I kind of slacked off a little, (as in I skipped a few nights) and now after visisting the orthodontist, he told me that my overbite was coming back, my teeth were a little crooked (but when i looked in the mirror, it only moved a tiny bit) So now I have to wear my retainer 24/7 for the next 8 weeks in order to reverse these changes. My problem is that he said there wasn’t a garuntee that it would work, and if it didn’t I would be stuck wearing my braces again to fix my overbite. so I guess what I’m trying to ask is, do you think everything will be back to normal again by 8 weeks as long as I wear them 24/7 ?? I’m really scared that if I do have to wear braces that my mom will kill me. Thanks,

I snapped my tooth in my teens and had a replacement fitted. Is there anything possible to fix this horrible fake tooth?

Monday, August 23rd, 2010
Q.
Hi. I snapped my front tooth in my teens so had to have another built on (with a screw, if that sounds right?! sorry it was a few years ago) and it is hideous as it’s sometime grey in colour and was fitted a bit wonky. It doesn’t help I have a massive overbite and ‘fangs’ that have turned around 90 degrees. Basically, I have awful teeth! How likely is it that I could have anything fixed, within a reasonable amount of time, with this horrible fake tooth? or even teeth whitening as a short term confidence booster?,

Is it normal to have sensitive teeth after having crowns fitted?

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010
Q.
Hi, ive just had four crowns done and having another 6 soon, upper front, as i have overbite and badly filled teeth. When i had the 4 prepared and had temps one of them was very sensitive, and whilst having the crowns fitted it was very painful, which i explained to my dentist. I honestly thought the tooth was infected. 2 weeks on and its still a little sensitive and im very cautious with chewing, is this normal??,

Would it be possible to remove my healthy remaining front tooth and get a bridge?

Monday, August 9th, 2010
Q.
Hello, I have already had cosmetic surgery to help straighten my teeth, one front tooth was knocked out and then I had the three remaining front teeth shaped down for a crown, however I still am very unhappy with the way I look (I have an 8-10mm overbite, partly due to the fact my lower jaw needs to be brought forward) what I would like to know is, even though I know dentists don’t like doing it, if it would be possible to remove the remaining front tooth (as it’s the front tooth that’s causing the problem) & then replace this with a straighter bridge?,

My dentist won’t replace my bridge until it had fallen out completely, so I now want implants. How much are they?

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010
Q.
Hi I currently have a bridge as i lost one of my front teeth some years ago. This bridge has now slipped downwards and needs to be replaced, my dentist will not replace it until it has fallen out, this has upset me because when i do smile you can see the gap above the bridge which shows my own teeth either side. So as he wont change this i am thinking of getting implants. What would a dentist do, would they just put one inplant in for the one missing tooth and put crowns on the supporting teeth (these are front teeth) i have about an inch overbite as well so can this also be changed. How much would this cost? Thanks,
