The dentist keeps sending my daughter away because he won’t give her braces as there are still baby teeth. Why?

my 12 yr 6mth old daughter has been approved for braces to pull back and straighten her top teeth but the dentist keeps sending her away for six mths at a time as she still has baby teeth firmly in !Some of her class mates have baby teeth and braces so obviously we are wondering why ?(she has 3 on eitherside on top and 2 on the bottom left) thanks for your input.,

I am 16 years old and i have been waiting for braces since the age of 11, i have gone through tooth extractions,2 fillings and other various things to my teeth to get them sorted, but this was carried out over 2 years ago now, i really do not want braces in college, and im a really self concious of my teeth, but my orthodontist seems to not do anything ? is there any way i can change where i go, or will i have to wait and go through this whole ordeal once again? thanks.,

My son has a small jaw and after years of treatment his teeth are still not aligned. Can you help?

hi! my son is now 14 years of age. and has a small jaw. when he was 10 his teeth were crowded so a dentist recommended braces for the upper jaw and he also removed two permanent teeth from the upper jaw. after nearly two years of treatment the teeth were still not aligned. now we are considering braces again. we went to two different orthodontists, both saying different things. one wants to remove two teeth from the lower jaw to make the number of teeth equal on both the upper and lower jaw. the other one is saying he would straighten out the teeth without extractions. i am so confused. please help!!,

I have protrusion problems, how can I fix these?

I am 20 yrs old. I have a serious dental problem which prevents me from smiling and even talking well. I have a protusion of my upper teeth over the lower teeth and some of my lower teeth have risen higher than the other lower ones. I believe this occured because used to thumb suck when I was young. What can be done to correct this, how long could it possibly take to totally correct it. and how costly might it be. Thanks,

Dear Dr Solanki i have been looking into cosmetic dentistry for a number of years but have always been put off by the price. Im 29 now and i feel its about time i sorted my teeth out my bottom teeth are fine they seem quite straight and i have not had any problems but my top teeth are not so good i have an overbite with my front 2 teeth and either side of them the teeth go behind my bottom teeth and are set back the rest of my teeth are fine what would be the best course of treatment and what sort of cost am i looking at ? How do I get my top teeth straightened at the age of 33?

Dr. I am almost 33 years of age and have my two prominent incisors teeth protruding out and thus makes me feel less confident when i smile. I seriously want to correct the protrusions.I am however skeptical that at this age there is nothing that can be done to correct this abnormality- since the best time should have been my formative years -without encountering a problem..I must confess that i have strong teeth and never had any of my teeth removed for dental problem.My only problem is how to get the top teeth straightened at the age of 33. Is there any sort of surgery that can be issued to fix my teeth?

I know this is long, but I will extremely appreciate your time to read it. I’m only sixteen years old so I don’t really know what I am doing, however I do know that I desperately want a nice smile. I would like to know: Is there any age range on this aspect of cosmetic surgery or is it ok that I am sixteen? Also through the NHS I have been told that they will not do any surgery to correct my teeth because it isn’t a health risk, they have offered the choice of braces, however I am starting collage in September and don’t particuarly want to arrive with a mouth full of metal, also i understand that braces will take upto 2 years for correction. I really don’t want this doing and no dentists will seem to help me understand my other options, I have; an overbite, gaps mainly between my front upper teeth and my bottom jaw is slightly further back. Is there any surgery I can have to correct all these matters rather than a brace? It has come to the point where I saving up my money for this, and I will pay any price to be able to laugh without covering my mouth, and talk to the floor to avoid people seeing my teeth. I know you probably get thousands of emails, but please will you write back with some advice, thank you.,
