Is it possible to have invisible brace without the wisdom teeth fully grown out

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009
Q.
Dr Dr Moore I am thinking about getting invisible braces. I had braces when i was younger ( I am now 20) and i have recently noticed that one of my top wisdom teeth is coming out. Its not causing me any problems however I have noticed one of my teeth on my top front row has slightly moved on the side the wisdom tooth is growing through. Could this be related? I would like to straighten the tooth, it is possible to have the invisible brace without all the wisdom teeth fully grown out? Thank you for your time.

I have retainer to wear at night will it keep my teeth in straight position

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009
Q.
Hi,I am 45 years old and had fixed braces to close a large gap in my two front teeth which was removed in March last year. I was overjoyed at the result and had a wire fixed to the back of my teeth to prevent them from moving back, my problem now is that the wire keeps coming off and to date have already swallowed two !The third is now falling off and I cant cope with this for the rest of my life ! I have a retainer to wear at night so if I continue with this alone will my teeth stay in position ? Please help me as my poor husband is now driven to distracton with all this and its already cost him a small fortune to get me a smile I am finally proud of ! Thanks,

Would you be able to straigten my teeth without extractions?

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009
Q.
Would you be able to straigten my teeth without extractions? They are not terribly uneven-small overlap on one tooth at front and the one next to it ( about one quarter inch overlap) and a couple of small overlaps on lower jaw( about one quater inch in total) . I have two gaps each side on upper jaw where I had exractions years ago, but further back than the usual place for orthdontic extractions. I have no such space on the lower jaw but I am given to understand that there is a procedure called, “slenderising” where selected teeth can be filed down. I know the answer is probably, ” I Do not know until I have examined your teeth, but hypothetically speaking, is it possible? Many thanks

Is the damon system more expensive than invisalign? Is it only in some clinics?

Monday, June 15th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have been advised to have invisalign by an orthodontist, he did not mention anything about the damon system. I just found out such thing exists. Is it only some clinics that do this? do you think I should go for a second opinion? Is the damon system more expensive than invisalign? Thank you so much!

My hidden permanent teeth has suppose to grow up how long it takes to grow up

Monday, June 15th, 2009
Q.
I have misaligned in right side upper teeth, one behind the others and a little space in my left side, and based in my past teeth X-ray I have hidden permanent teeth that suppose will grow up and fill in to a gap but till now it doesn’t appears that’s why it gives space in my teeth and I’m now 20 years old. Do you think theirs still a chance to correct it? and what would be the possible solution for this problem? how long it takes just to make it straight?

I am having orthodontic treatment is it okay to switch orthodontist at last stage?

Monday, June 15th, 2009
Q.
Hello, I have been living abroad and receiving orthodontic treatment for the past year. I was initially told the treatment would take approximately 16 months, however my orthodontist has now informed me that I am looking at another year of treatment. My husband and I are planning to come back to the UK in the next few months and I have just found out that I am pregnant. My first question is whether I would be entitled to free orthodontic treatment in England considering that I am pregnant? Secondly, I am assuming it is going to be the very last stages of my treatment, is it ok to switch orthodontists at this stage? Lastly, if I did have to pay for my treatment, what would be the approximate costs, given that most of the work would have been completed? Thank you in advance for your help. Kind regards.
