Im 26 would i be able to get a brace to fix this free on the nhs is it purely cosmetic
Q. Hi there im 26 and have overjet top teeth of about 9-10mm. i was wondering if i would be able to get a brace to fix this free on the nhs or would they class it as purely cosmetic? i get pain in my back teeth, often bite my bottom lip i also feel i clench my back teeth quite alot which also causes pain. and feel it sometimes effects my speech any advise is really appreaciated. thanks
A. Hi unfortunately you are above 18 so nhs guidelines do not allow treatment
try to ask your dentist to refer you to the orthodontic department in a local hospital in the hope they will treat you

i need a brace badly i hate talkin to ppl case of them an when i talk bk i put my hand over my mouth cause i feel in barrerst a bout then i am 18 an i need a brace i went to my denters an thay said i have to pay 2000 pound fot them well if i could get one on the nhs i would be the best thing ever
