Hi Andrew. I’ve had normal braces before through the NHS and they came off early as they kept braking all the time. I have gaps at the front but my teeth are all straight. Would Simpli5 be an option? Or would Invisalign be more suitable? If Simpli5 were suitable and they were on for 3 months for example how much would this cost? Or would I need to see a consultant? Hi Dr Moore, I am 15 years old and in all honestly my teeth are fairly straight apart from this one tooth at the front which is up a lot more than the rest. This really annoys me. I think it happened when the baby tooth underneath took too long to fall out and for some reason the adult tooth started growing first, over the top if it. I would really like to have a brace or something for it, I just don’t want it to cost thousands of pounds! I hope you can help. Thank you for any advice you can offer me.
Hello, I am 13 years old and I just want the gap in the front of my teeth to close in. It’s not that big but you can tell it’s there and also the sides of my teeth have gaps in them. I was just wondering how much would it cost just to have my front gap filled in and how much would it be to get all of of it done and also how long would this procedure last, are there any side affects? There are 7 gaps all together. How much would that be altogether? Is it it legal to have it done at my age? Many thanks.
Hi ya there, I’m 25 and I was wondering that because I’m on employment allowance support and I need a brace really bad, whether could I get it for free? I really don’t want a standard brace but if I can’t get another type of brace I would. I don’t know whether my dentist would do all kinds of different braces like Invisalign and also would the NHS help me with this? If you could be so kind and reply back to me you would really help me. Hi, I am 21 years old and have an under-bite and also a small top jaw. I got told I could have it on the NHS but my parents were too worried about the potential side effects of having it done so they paid for my to have an upper brace to sort out my top teeth. However, my confidence is still very low and now wish I had had it done. I emailed my old orthodontists to enquire whether I can have this procedure now. They said I couldn’t have it done any more as I am over 18 but I recall my orthodontist saying I still could due to how bad my jaw(s) are. So now I am very confused, please help!

Hi Dr Shaffie. I had my braces around 3 years ago but I have lost my retainers a year after wearing it and then got new ones, straight after, a couple of months later I have broke both my new retainers again and should of bought new ones but then my teeth moved all the way forward and to their normal positions. This has caused me jaw pains an I can feel my jaw widen again, also it is had to keep mouth shut, also I have an overbite, my teeth really irritate my gums causing it to be very uncomfortable. Would I be able to braces for free again at the age of 16? Thanks.
Hello, I was just wondering if you could please advise me with something? I was supposed to have braces as a teen but I opted not to as I didn’t want to get picked on for them. I wish I had toughed it out as now I’m too embarrassed to smile. All my canine teeth are way out of line, they look like a second row of teeth. My front teeth are crooked. I long for a straight smile so I can smile in photos with my children rather than hiding from the camera. Please can you tell me what the cheapest and quickest way of achieving this would be. I’m a single mum now so funds are scarce. Any advice would be great, such as general costs of braces and how long it will take for my teeth to become straight again etc. Thank you.
Hi, I have a very large gap between my 2 front teeth. In fact, it is so large that I can wobble a pound coin between them as I’ve gotten older (I’m 31 now). My teeth have moved quite a bit and my problem is that the gums between my teeth are getting damaged due to biting food and are becoming very tender so I have been looking at treatment used but it all seems very expensive. I never had braces as a child because the ones available were very large and I would have been bullied when wearing them. I don’t know what else to do and I am becoming very self-conscious about it now. What kind of treatment would you suggest and would I be able get my teeth fixed on nhs? as I currently don’t work, thank you for any help.
My niece is 31 years old and is in receipt of income support. She is stunning but is very conscious of her very crooked teeth. Would she be entitled to a brace on the nhs as her problem is making her really unhappy. She has always worked but only part time but now has a young daughter and this is the first time she has ever claimed benefits. .
She is becoming more and more conscious and paranoid that people are looking at her. She is not the most confident person in the world and never ever smiles when having photos taken as she won’t let anyone see her teeth. I personally think it is now affecting her mental state and there is nothing that we can say to her to boost her confidence. She has always looked after her teeth and they are brilliant white although she does only attend a dentist when it is absolutely necessary. She currently wears a tooth shield as she has been experiencing severe pain but shows no signs of having any actual dental problem so has had to have this made as they think it is caused by clenching her teeth together or by grinding them. Please try to help us to make her smile her beautiful smile like she used to do when she was young and carefree
