Where can I find an experienced dental surgeon to help with gum grafts?

Friday, September 10th, 2010
Q.
I have gum recession across all my teeth (upper and lower). I would seriously like to consider gum grafts – for cosmetic reasons – to treat 3-4 of the worst teeth. How do I find out the reputable and experienced dental surgeons in the UK and will they perforn surgery for purely cosmetic reasons?,

Q.
Hi Dr. Moore, I am 20 years old and my top, front four teeth are implants. I had two separate bone grafting surgeries several years ago and now I am experiencing gum loss. I am embarrassed about my smile and I think my roots are starting to show. Would a gum graft be a good option for me?,

Should I have a gum graft or a bone graft?

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010
Q.
Dear Patel, I am currently dealing with gum disease, my gum line has dropped/recessed badly and also causing space/hole in between of teeth and bone lost. My periodontist has suggest to have a gum graft for the gum recession. I was wondering if I should instead to have the bone graft or just the gum graft? In addition, does the gum graft will close up the hole in between the teeth? If not, what are my other opinion for that? Many thanks.

Is there any treatment available for my gum recession?

Monday, March 22nd, 2010
Q.
Hi Dr Caplan, My gumline has been receding gradually for the past 5 years and I have been told by my dental hygienist that it is due to overbrushing (not due to gum disease). My gum recession is quite mild and does not pose any problems, but I do not like how it looks. Is there any natural remedy for my gums to grow back, e.g. any gels I can apply to my gums to stimulate regrowth? Thank you! Cheers, Amanda,

Need to fix my bite and get gum graft, please suggest.

Q.
I am nearly coming to the end of invisalign treatment and have found that my top front teeth have gone forward and caused me to have a bit of an overbite. Also my lower left canine gum has receded, which must be due to brushing too hard as I don’t have gum disease. Will invisalign refinements be able to push my front teeth back a bit? or is there any other treatment that can fix my bite? Where can I go to get a gum graft, as it is causing me a lot of anguish.

Can I gum disease be stopped from spreading further without teeth loss?

Monday, December 7th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I am terribly worried. I am 52 and when I went for a routine 6 month check up the other day, I was told by my dentist that I have gum desease. she took an x ray and a lot of the bone on my lower gumms has eroded away. I am devastated! I have always looked after my teeth and never had a dentist show any real concern. I was told about 4 years ago that I had some slight pocketing but to keep flossing etc which I do daily and I have had my teeth de-scaled for years now. I have now been refered to a dental hygienist. Will I lose all my teeth? I am really scared and can’t sleep with worry. The thought of having false teeth terrifies me. Can this be reversed or even stopped in it’s tracks? I will do anything to remedy it. Please can you help?
