Is there any treatment available for my gum recession?

Q. Hi Dr Caplan, My gumline has been receding gradually for the past 5 years and I have been told by my dental hygienist that it is due to overbrushing (not due to gum disease). My gum recession is quite mild and does not pose any problems, but I do not like how it looks. Is there any natural remedy for my gums to grow back, e.g. any gels I can apply to my gums to stimulate regrowth? Thank you! Cheers, Amanda,
A. No natural remedies but a periodontist can sometimes provide you with a gum graft to replace your missing tissue

I have been wearing full set dentures for about 22 years and I’ve always needed adhevise to keep the bottoms secure. Now my bottom dentures have no gum to set on at all and I’m not a canidate for implants because I’m so small baby implants would crack my jaw. Is there anything I can do to regrow gums or something other than taking bone from my hip? Since I am so small, I dont want trouble later in life with my hips, but its VERY difficult to eat anything now, I cant chew it! Please anything that might help? Thank You!

Unfortunately you can’t regrow your gums. I would recommend you book in with an implantologists as there are a lot of treatment options that could work for you.
