The pain during and especially after the treatment of teeth whitening was horrific

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
Q.
I had my teeth whitened by the bleaching method yesterday. The procedure was carried out by a dental hygenist. The pain during and especially after treatment is horrific. No pain killers have helped reduce the pain. Even when told to rub sensodyne toothpaste on the teeth did not make any impact on the pain. My gume turned white and there was a lot of spillage of the bleach into my mouth. In your opinion is this the reaction I am going through normal. Its over 24 hours now and the pain has not reduced.

I have Trigeminal Neurology. pain developed after crown was replaced do i need to see another dentist?

Monday, March 30th, 2009
Q.
I had a 30+ year gold crown replaced 3 years ago and have had pain ever since. The dentist referred me to a Neurologist that I have been seeing for MS and it was determined that I have Trigeminal Neurology and have been prescribed medicines to control the pain in the cheek, gums, lips, etc. But I still have pain around the crown, cannot get juice, fruit, etc near it. If I bite something on the crown it feels like something is under it and feels like I am biting on tin foil. I have been back to my dentist many times and am always told the crown is fine and to just keep taking my medicine. Is it time to see a new dentist for another opinion? I have a problem of insurance and who I can see. Thank you.

I have had 14 veneers fitted and need another 5 doing in lots of pain

Monday, March 30th, 2009
Q.
I have had 14 veneers fitted and need another 5 doing. I had them fitted 7 months ago, and have only had 1 week without pain during this time. My dentist didn’t provide me with temporary teeth during the preps, and snapped the front tooth when he removed the enamel, resulting in weeks of antibiotics and pain killers, and eventual root canal on a previously healthy tooth. I am still on the maximum dose of didrofenic and paracetemol extra, and my gums are starting to swell and ulcerate. He wants to see me every week to inject antibacterial treatment every week at a cost of £128.00, until they settle down. What shall I do? Help me please.

I need quite extensive dental work what insurance plan should i choose

Monday, March 30th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Rob I need quite extensive dental work which I have put off for many years due toi the escalating expense, I have put off at least 3 root canals, my front teeth have gone wonky so I need a brace, and I need to replace both my caps and I probably need at least another two caps, this obviously is hugely above my budget, and I don’t realy want to travel to Bulgaria or Poland to get treatment, what Dental Insurance would be the most comprehensive with full cover with no excess – and if it would cover an Anaesthesiologist if I wanted to have everything done in one go, as I have an extreme fear of Dentists. I am sorry i seem alarmist but I need to sort this problem out asap! Best regards
