Do you think I should have a bridge or dental implants fitted?

Saturday, December 4th, 2010
Q.

Hello im 17, and I dont have any big upper lateral inscisors, only 1 milk tooth lateral inscisor on the right… and so was given a brace from my orthodentist to make the gap on the left bigger, and to make a gap between my top tooth and the milk tooth so i can get a bridge fitted, however my dentist is saying i should get impants, and my orthodentist is saying a bridge, so i dont know what to do. I have an infected tooth which I feel needs to be removed, what are my options after extraction?

Saturday, December 4th, 2010
Q.

I have an infected root under a post and crown. The second set of antibiotics have helped but I am
Sure the infection remains as still jaw pain and slight swelling the course finishes in 4 days time. I understand a bridge or implant is the last options after extraction? I am
Unsure which way to go? I have a crown
Next to infected tooth and could this be used to do
Bridge? Or do I compromise tooth behind? With implants can I get any help as a student? I an really confused? Don’t want to leave a gap due to
Being unsightly! Are these my only options apart from a
Denture? Thanks

Approximately how much would it cost to have 3, possibly four implants to replace my front teeth?

Friday, December 3rd, 2010
Q.

Hello Doctor Caplan, 3 years ago I knocked out my front right central incisor. The tooth was replaced at A’n’E but it failed to re-graft. Shortly afterward my 2 central incisors and left lateral incisor have had root canal treatment which has worked well up until now although the teeth are discoloring and are not straight. I am considering having 3 maybe 4 implants to replace my front teeth. Can you offer me a ball park figure on the cost of this treatment? I understand the need to take a closer look before quoting an accurate price but I just want an estimate.

Thanks

How much should it cost to have capped teeth corrected?

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010
Q.

About 20 years ago I had the front 4 teeth capped on my top row. At the time of treatment I got an infection which shifted from tooth to tooth eventually leading to the dentist having to drill a hole in the back of the tooth to release the pressure/pain. Eventually it settled down but it has left a lump on my gum and the tooth below has shifted down making it look unsightly and the tooth is loose. The caps are also thick looking and they look like horses teeth making it unbearable for me to smile. I visited a cosmetic dentist about a year ago to see if I can put this right as it has destroyed my confidence and he quoted me £7,500 which would include xrays. I can’t afford this amount. Can you give me any advice? Thanks.
