How to I stop other gaps forming after a tooth extraction?

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011
Q.

Hi there, I have a question about tooth extraction. I had my molar taken out which has left behind a huge gap. When i smile, you can see that my molar is not there! I do have a wide smile. My question is, will the rest of my teeth move towards that side to fill the gap? therefore creating gaps between my teeth? I already have two gaps which are getting wider and i hate smiling because of them! Plz plz plz can you give me some advice on how to prevent this from happening, what are my options? Many thanx. Sarah

I can’t afford the price of two implants, do yo think the prices will ever decrease?

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011
Q.

I have seen a consultant re two front teeth – I now need to have them extracted and have a bone graft, after that I have a choice of denture or implant as the bridge is not recommended. I am 59 yrs of age and recently been made redundant. The cost for bone graft and two implants with subsequent follow up is over £8,000 and I cannot get this on the NHS. My question is this, we can obtain hip replacements etc on the NHS but something like implants we can’t. I cannot afford this amount of money and am now conscious of so many people who have gaps in their teeth because of the high cost of implants – is this really fair when we are told to look after our teeth but we cannot afford to. I may have to result to a denture which I am anxious about as it is at the front of my mouth and I have memories of my parents taking their teeth out at night. I do not want my partner to witness this. Will it ever be cost effective so that more people can take advantage of it?

I have two sensitive, problem teeth after having my brace removed, could I replace them with implants?

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011
Q.

Hi,
Okay, so I had braces for 3 years. The main reason for me haing the was I had an impacted K9 and a milk tooth in it’s place. The took the baby tooth out and pulled the K9 down using a gold chain. While they was doing this the shorten the roots of te tooth next to the K9 and on of my front teeth. Anyway cut a long sorry short it’s been a year now since I’ve ha my brace off and the 2 teeth next to my problem tooth are really sentsitive and I’m scared they are gonna fall out. (Oh and by the way the K9 is back to front) Think is I’m only 21 and I really don’t want a denture for my front teeth. Will an implant be my best option? Can or will a dentist just remove the teeth that are hurting and put an implant in so I don’t have to have a gap if it falls out. Sorry about my little rant but I’m losing sleep over this. Thanks, any advice you can give me will be highly appreiated.

Could I get a vampire dental implant?

Friday, March 25th, 2011
Q.

hi justin
i have seen on cosmetic dentistry guide mention of vampire teeth implants and it was suggested a veneer be used however i have heard that there are american firms who will remove the canine that is already in place and replace it with an implant is this a possibilty at your practice (you are closest to me) and would you have any idea of what sort of cost would be involved approximately?

many thanks

My teeth are in bad condition, I am considering cosmetic dentistry but don’t know where to start, any advice?

Friday, March 25th, 2011
Q.

I am considering cosmetic dental treatment and need to understand precisely what it is I am looking for. My teeth have never been particularly strong despite regular brushing and flossing and I am now almost in despair. I have 1 crown that had just snapped, one back tooth that needs to be removed, a further root canal that has yet to be crowned and a number of large fillings that I am certain will not last too much longer. I really want to know if implants are the way forward or what else I can do to salvage my remaining teeth!!! Dare I say I have a mortal fear of the dentist and almost feel embarassed to visit given my current situation, please help!!!!
