what should 4 front teeth crowns cost

Friday, September 26th, 2008
Q.
Dr. Tennet, I have four crowned front teeth. If I have them replaced, should I expect to pay a reduced price since a lot of the work has been carried out to prepare my teeth to take the crowns? I have been quoted Euros 2,000 total for the four crowns. Regards

chould i have a crown veneer or a filling

Friday, September 26th, 2008
Q.
My 2 front teeth have been filled at the back -one more than the other. a filling came out recently and my dentist refilled . The teeth are slightly discoloured . Crowns have been recommended -1 as necessary and the other for obvious cosmetic reasons. My dentist has said that, because of the fillings, the teeth are thin and would not he would not recommend veneers? Opinion/advice please since crowns seem a drastic step Thank you

I want to replace my small teeth with crowns and veneers

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008
Q.
I have very small teeth and a couple missing from the top and bottom that never grew. I had veneers put on my front 5 top teeth when I was 15 (11 years ago now). One of them has chipped and my gums have receeded anyway since then and so I will need them replaced soon. Also I want to have my bottom teeth done if possible at the same time. They are very small and so would I have veneers or crowns put on them? Also, if I was to get my top and bottom teeth done, do dentists usually tend to charge a fixed price per tooth or would there be any scope for negotiating a discount for the number of teeth? Many thanks

will my crowns fall off if i have veneers

Monday, September 15th, 2008
Q.
Hello, I just wanted to ask you about veneers and crowns. I have been to my dentist to show him a tooth whose appearance I dont like, and due to the tooth being short and not grown stright unlike the other teeth, he advised me to leave it as teh crowns would fall off. However, I do not like the apperance of it and wish it could be the same length and straight as the other teeth. Is there any other alternative?…

broken tooth crowns and pain

Sunday, September 14th, 2008
Q.
On the top left side I believe my dentist said its tooth # 13, I broke and they had to remove the tooth. He told me that an implant wouldn’t be necessary and that best opt would be a bridge. He basically told me that he would shave the tooth behind, crown it and hook on the fake tooth in the missing spot. First time around, I had pain eating on my left side and I couldn’t sleep as I noticed my lower jaw was shifting adding pressure to my front top teeth. I went back and they had to redo the impression, said my bit was off. I found out that a bridge consisted of 3 teeth (crown the tooth behind and in front of missing tooth). I have no idea why he only shaved back tooth as I am still having problems. I’m suppose to go back tomorrow as I am having problems with the temps that were placed in. Hurts to eat on left side and again, can’t sleep on side as my lower jaw slides. What do you think is the problem? The tooth was pulled out last month…is it too late for me to get an implant and have them just crown the tooth they shaved down? I already paid $675 and still in pain. He told me that I may need a root canal but I think he messed up somewhere. How can you tell me you are going to give me a bridge and only shave one tooth? I now regret it since I just gave up a good tooth!

should i have an onlay or crown

Sunday, September 14th, 2008
Q.
Hi – I have an existing cap on a molar (actually it may be an ‘onlay’, as it is essentially half a tooth than has been cemented on to the remaining half-molar, which is fully intact – i.e., has not been ground into a peg) which has just broken in half. The dentist I have just seen has recommended a crown – which would require drilling away the remaining healthy tooth base into a peg – rather than another onlay. However, I’d prefer the onlay as it requires less intervention, and no grinding of what is otherwise a healthy half-tooth. What is your view on the pros versus cons of the two approaches? Thanks!

can my broken crown be removed

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008
Q.
Hi My lower third molar of the right jaw has a broken crown and I want it to get removed. But the dentist says that as the molar is attached to the lower jaw a surgical operation is required. Is there any way the tooth can be removed without an operation.

I have been quoted of £730 for Chameleon Porcelain Jacket crown

Monday, August 4th, 2008
Q.
I have a quote of £730 for Chameleon Porcelain Jacket Crown for LR6. Part broke off at the gum which was patched up but there is another fracture down middle so needs crown. Obviously I want to reduce price and metal one on NHS is an alternative since lower molar not a big aesthetic issue. However are there other alternatives to chameleon PJC for this tooth which are functionally as good but cheaper?
