Wednesday, November 5th, 2008
Q.
Hi there I have 2 veneers at the top front. and the either side of that I have 2 crowns which are all awful! None of them match the colours range from off white to beighe! They are very old now and the Veneers keep falling off randomley and I have to stick them back with …waitfor it.. Super glue. I cannot afford the dentist as I dread to think what I need done and how much it will cost (not too sure if I can pay it back monthly?)!? Many thanks and Look forward to a reply

I have just had a dental implant on one of my front teeth

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008
Q.
Hi I have just had a dental implant on one of my front teeth aswell as other dental work to my teeth. I have only just finished my treatment in the last two months, and already I am experiencing a problem with my implant, it is loose, I went to my dentist who tells me the screw has worked loose and this is common in implants, and the only way to deal with it is either to wait until it works its way completely loose or drill through the back of the crown to access the screw. Is this the best way! I have just spent so much money both on the implant and the crown, won’t this weaken the crown. So at the moment I am having to put up with a loose tooth. Thank you in advance.

I broke my tooth at 13

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008
Q.
I broke my tooth, #13 and my dentist said it would be best to have do a bridge. He explained that he would shave the tooth behind it down and make a bridge. Ironic, I found out that a bridge consists of total 3 teeth, one behind and one in front of missing tooth. Found out a little too late. He shaved the back tooth down…I kept going back and forth since I was having problems w/the bit and jaw sliding. Plus, I was in pain. He told me that I had to get a root canal on the tooth they just shaved. After that…I told him that I wanted to do the implant. I’m scheduled to meet w/the oral surgeon tomorrow, 9/16. I told my dentist that I now want 2 seperate crowns…the one they did the root canal on and the other where I will have the implant. He advised me not to have 2 seperate ones because if the implant gets loose…there is nothing to hold it. I don’t know what to believe as I already destroyed a good tooth. Would it wrong to have 2 seperate crowns then having them together? I feel them being seperate, I would have a better chance of them lining up correctly and that my bit is not off and my bottom jaw not sliding. Thank you.

smashing one of my front teeth

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008
Q.
I had an accident about 6 years ago which resulted in me smashing one of my front teeth. After some root work i had a crown fitted but it was a really bad fit and very noticable. I had to wait until a few weeks ago to get it redone as i could not afford it. I have now got my temporay crown in and goingback next week to get the new porcelin crown fixed. As i also have a gap i am getting a porcelin veneer in my other front tooth to close the gap. It is costing me over £2000. My issue is that the main reason i wanted to get it sorted is the black line on the top of my tooth. My dentist originally told me that with the porcelin crown and a white post this would be illiminated but when i went in to get my old crown removed and the temporay fitted he said that my old tooth is very black and so i can not get rid of the black line. This is very gutting for me as i still feel it looks really bad. I feel really annoyed that i am paying all this money but am still going to come away with the unsightly black gum! Is there anything that i can do? Shoudl i contact my dentist to discuss before my finla appointment?

I have a crown that becomes infected every year

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008
Q.
I have a crown as a front incisor. About once a year in becomes infected and I need antibiotics. The dentist always takes a few days to provide antibiotics and I can be in a lot of pain. The dentist says that I have not choice other than to suffer this or have the crown removed – as the post attaching the crown is so fine. I am suspicious that he is only saying this because he does not have the expertise himself. The dentist who originally did the crown has died. I do not know how to find a dentist who can do this type of work – he was the best I could find after 3 tries with worse equipt practices an is located 60 miles away. I think it is very bad for my health to have so many antibioitcs. How can I find a good dentist?

When I have a crown put on will it affect my apisectomy

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008
Q.
My question When I have a crown put on no 46 will the dentist clean out the old emalgom filling,or will he just shape the tooth and put the new crown over the existing filling. Will this procedure interfere with the posterlok apisectomy in any way,and what type of crown do you recommend. I had a crown put on no 47 about 2004. In 2006/12/20 i had a posterlok apisectomy x2 on No 46+47 Code ko4.7. I would like to have a crown put on no 46 as i feel it would protect my tooth and prevent it from cracking.I am 54 years old.Female My other question to you is my full top denture needs to be relined and my dentist tells me that that he advises me not to reline my denture as my gum on the right side is a bit soft and there is no garantee that the next denture will fit properly. What can you advise me to do?
