I had dental implant and my dentist is asking me to whiten my teeth before having crown advice?

Q. I have had 2 dental implants on my front top jaw and two porcelain crowns have been made but not fitted yet. I am wearing temporary crowns. My dentist is asking me to whiten my teeth before the porcelain crowns are fitted.I guess the reason for this is the shade of the crowns she had chosen are not blending with the rest of my teeth.I have enamel hypoplasia and very sensitive teeth and I am not keen to have my teeth bleached.Should my dentist get her technician to make new porcelain crowns to blend in with my teeth.I am nervous about having my teeth whiten and any side effects that may occur.I have had a lot of antibiotics in the past and perhaps that has an implication on the colour of my teeth and also it may be genetic as I am Chinese.I also feel that the whitening may not as effective on me.What should I do ?I would be grateful if you can reply as soon as possible. Thank you.

A. Hi It is common practice to whiten the teeth before placing crowns as it generally gives a very nice final result. The only side effect is transient sensitivity. It might be worth you giving it a try especially if you would like a nice white final result
