I have crowded teeth is inman aligner better than invisaling?

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009
Q.
Hello, My two front teeth overlap slightly and I have been told previously that invisalign would work. However I have recently heard about the inman aligner which works much faster and is not as expensive – would it straighten my two front teeth?

After removing braces my teeth are starting to move back

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009
Q.
Hi I had my braces taken off when I was 16 and then had to wear retainers for some time. I’m now 17 (close to 18) and my teeth are starting to move back – it hasn’t really been that much of a problem until recently when a couple of my teeth have started to push on each other when I close my mouth – this leaves a sore feeling in my mouth especially in the morning. Would my orthodontist be willing to fix my teeth again for free? All my other teeth are fine it’s just one at the top and one at the bottom. Thanks

Hi I am looking to have vampire fangs for my Vampire wedding in Las Vegas and thought about the possiblility of these being on a brace, as naturally having these done permenatly would be a problem. Could you advise further? Thank you

I have had a bad experience with porcelain veneers

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr I hope you can give me some advice? I have had a bad experience with porcelain veneers and I am now on my second set of veneers which unfortunately are not right. I would dearly love to get this solved once and for all as my confidence has been shattered by the problems Ive had with my teeth. My question is, can veneers be replaced numerous times or would this be likely to put the health of my teeth at serious risk? I am in my twenties and if I were to embark on corrective treatment this would be my third set. The teeth were minimally prepared. Thank you, your opinion woula be appreciated

Teeth not white enough after whitening

Friday, March 27th, 2009
Q.
I have recently finished a two week course of tooth whitening using guards and gel from my dentist but my teeth are not much whiter. I was given a 15% gel. Is it possible to use the guards for another week and use a stronger bleach to make my teeth whiter? will this cause damage to my teeth?

can I have my teeth and my crowns whitened

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009
Q.
Dr Butt, I used to have gaps in all my front teeth so around 10 years ago I had 4 crowns to get rid of the gaps. The dentist that carried out the surgery matched the colour of my crowns to the colour of my existing teeth which is slightly off-white. I was wondering whether it’s possible to have my teeth including my crowns whitened? I have not been to a dentist for a consultation as yet. Please refer me to the most relevant dentist if this is not an area you specialise in. Many Thanks,

Teeth restoration

Monday, March 23rd, 2009
Q.
My teeth are in a very bad state due to past health problems. Most of my back teeth I know are beyond saving, but I think my bottom side and front still have relativly healthy roots, the same for my top side teeth. The front top are missing, I had a bridge for many years which I lost in an accident. I have not had a dentist for many years,as you know NHS dentists are difficult to find and I havent had the money for a private one. However i am now in a better financial position and an wondering if anything could be done to make my mouth look a little better. I realise that you cant give me any definite`answers based on the information I have given you and appreciate that any advice you may choose to give me will be of a very general kind. I would like to know though the kind of options that are open to me -if any- or if I would be better off having them removed. Obviousy I would prefer not to do this. although my financial situation gives me some leeway I am still far from well off. I am looking only for a rough general estimate of the costs involved.I understand that any information of this nature you give me will be very general and open to change if you actually treat me. They are in a very poor state, and I have no idea whatsoever how much treatment of this kind costs. Any advice you could give me would be greatfuly recieved.

Cap is not fitting under the gum properly

Monday, March 23rd, 2009
Q.
Hi there, I have had 2 dental caps done about 2 weeks ago. However, I had them done in South Africa and currently live in New Zealand. One cap feels as though it is not under the gum properly. Can u please advise me as to what my next step should be? Dentists in New Zealand are very expensive and Iam very paranoid thinking that I will need to redo that cap. Thank You so much for ur help.

Can my overbite and missing teeth be fixed?

Monday, March 23rd, 2009
Q.
Hi, I think i have an overbite, when i bite, my front teeth are further foward than my back teeth and it has made me paranoid for years, i feel my chin line is too far set back due to this and often practice pushing my jaw fowards but it obviously doesn’t feel natural and i forget easily, I did have a brace for about a month when i was younger, it worked by locking my jaw into place but i didnt get on with it, the dentist said he could break my jaw in half and fit a metal rod to push it foward but it scared me at that age! Also, when my dentist did the xray for the brace he relised that i had the teeth that are meant to be next to my front teeth missing (they wern’t in my gums to come down), therefore, my canines grew in the wrong place so are next to my front teeth and i hate them, i am left with a milk tooth where the canine shouldve pushed it out and on the other side, a gap where the milk tooth came out. my two front teeth have begun crssing over too now. i wondered what you would reccomend. Thankyou. Also, i have
