My bottom teeth are very worn down, what can I do to fix this problem?

Hi, so here’s my problem…my bottom first two teeth are worn out badly,before it gets worse is it possible to have crown on it? my gums are strong and healthy.I also wear braces with two artificial teeth on top gum.so I would like advice on those as well and would like cosmetic teeth rather then dentures because I don’t want them to slip or fall out when I’m talking it would just be too embarrassing. I hope you do your best to provide me with good advice.thanks I am 63 year old have no fillings in any teeth always been healthy teeth .now first two teeth worn out make bad in looks and i would like my teeth to look like natural teeth .i am sure you be able to help. Thanks again.

Which is better – All ceramic crowns or metal ceramic crowns?

HI Doctor,My teeth have gaps in between and i went to a dentist where he suggested me to go for a cosmetic surgery as i don’t have time i.e. “All Ceramic Crowns” so can u tell me the sideeffects for this type of crown?And please mention which crown type is best?
What are sideeffects for Metal Ceramic Crows?
And will u able to answer me as early as possible?

I had my braces placed in Pakistan but now live in England, how can I get them tightened without having to return to Pakistan?

Hi, I just wanted to ask that I have had my braces done in Pakistan on 25th May 2012 and was visiting the dentist every 10 days for a check up, I have been back since 17th June and up until now I haven’t got them checked by any dentist, because my braces have gone loose due to 2 of the braces that have come off the tooth I am worried they will go back into their old position again. Where I am living at the moment in Peterborough my dentist has said to me it is best to go back to who I got them put in from in case anything goes wrong from them. Please could you tell me if their is anything I could do to get them tightened without going back to Pakistan?

Do you think I’m suitable for jaw re-alignment surgery?

My top jaw hangs over my bottom jaw quite far, the last time I went to the orthodontist the gap was 5.5mm but I think it has got bigger, I can fit the tip of my little finger in the gap. It causes me constant ache in my jaws, it feels stiff and causes headaches and pain around my face. I think my teeth also rest slightly more to the left. I have had 4 teeth out when I was around 13 and had braces several times through my teens. I wondered if I am suitable for jaw realignment as a friend of mine has had it done and he has been very happy with the outcome. I am 21 so I don’t know if I am able to get this on the NHS, or where I need to get more information. I have a doctors appointment on Wednesday to discuss it with my GP.

Will braces fix my lisp? I can’t find the answers I’m looking for online!

I have a lisp and it is very noticeable. Whenever I hear a recording of myself speaking, I feel awkward.

My teeth, I’ve noticed that the whole left side of my bottom row teeth (starting after both two front bottom teeth) are straight. And then, on the right side is not. It just seems to have shifted position. And the right side is where me lisp is.

My top row kinda looks weird too but I’m not really sure.

Whenever I say “S” or “C’ or any other letters that sound like that, my mouth shifts to the right side.

I was wondering, what will fix this?? Will braces? Cause I’ve been looking into them and no where online has given me sufficient facts about it.

Would contouring be the best option for my spaced teeth?

I have decay between my front teeth and another two front teeth and the rest of my teeth are reasonable and presentable just a bit stained, I want the perfect smile for when i start my job but don’t want to spend too much money and am worried about the veneers coming off so could I use contouring for my gaps and decay holes and then whiten my teeth? I need something that will last and will not discolour. Can you please advise me of options and rough costs? And whether finance is available?

I had the 6 Month Braces but my teeth have moved back to their original positions, why has this happened?

I had six month braces on my teeth for about 7months and followed up with bonding on the top and retainer on the bottom. The teeth were beautiful — for about 3 months. The top teeth moved within the first few months; the bonding was removed and replaced with a retainer. I wore my retainers all of the time except while eating for the first one and a half years. The teeth have moved a lot and now I feel the top front are protruding and my bite has changed. I am very unhappy and concerned about this. I still wear the retainer and the retainers are now plastic; they crack frequently and the cost is $50.00 for each replacement, the last one only lasted about 3 weeks. This has been costly but more importantly, my teeth are still moving and not in a good way. I am 55 so I;m afraid that this option should never have been done on my teeth. I would like to hear your thoughts on these concerns. thank you.

Why do the cosmetic dentistry procedures vary so much in price?

Hi,
why does cosmetic dentistry vary in price so greatly. I have had 4 consultaions and all the prices are completely different for the same procedure?? It makes it impossible to choose the right dentist as your left wondering WHY are they £1000-2000 cheaper or more expensive. Its crazy!??
The procedure I have had consultaions for is for 4 porcelain veneers fitted to my top front teeth to close a gap I have had since the age of 12.

Can I receive braces for free?

Hello Doctor, I am currently a 23 year old full time worker. I work for the nhs and i have always had very crooked teeth. This really gets me down and i feel very self-conscious. I had 12 teeth removed when i was younger due to overcrowding and i have now been left with a very unattractive smile. I would love to have braces fitted but cannot afford them privately, i know a few people who have had braces fitted for free and i would like to know if I’m in any way eligible for this work to be done because i work for the nhs? and how do i go about receiving the treatment? if not, do you know how i could spread the costs of the treatment? Can I wear a temporary veneer and retainers at the same time?

Hi,

I just had a temporary veneer cap in today as my tooth was badly stained.

Does the temporary veneer cap should look slightly bigger and thicker than the original tooth?

I do have retainers from my fixed braces that i still wear to keep my teeth in place, can i still wear them retainers or is it best to leave it as it may not fit my original teeth which was moulded?

What precautions should i take as I have had this temporary cap?

When I do have the permenant veneers done which will be on the 15th June, will they look at normal natural as my original tooth? as in not thicker and bigger than this temporary veneer cap i have on at this moment.
