Is tooth whitening bad for enamel?

Hi Mr.Andrew, I am student in dentistry collage ,and i am intersting in cosmotic dentistry and would like to know about it as much as. My question about teeth whitening , there is many dentists avoiding doing whitening , they afraid from affecting enamel and they said that it has bad prognosis in most cases , what do you say about that ,and how we can avoid its problems if exist. thank you . zaid,

Do you have any advice about getting my teeth whitened?

Hello doctor, I am a teenager of 15 years of age and I have neglected my teeth for a few years since maybe the age of 7 or 8 where I only brushed once a day or once every other day and I am ashamed to say that I have only just started to think about doing something about it. This has caused stains on my teeth from a young age which have never gone which leads me to fear that these stains are maybe quite deep. I have started an oral hygiene regime in which I’m using Arm and Hammer Advanced Whitening toothpaste and Plax Mouthwash. My question is therefore, do you have any advice or information concerning what I can do to get my teeth healthier and whiter (especially!) and any specific products that would help my teeth stains disappear? Why am I experiencing a lot of sensitivity with whitening?

I experience quite a lot of sensitivity when whitening my teeth and can only keep the trays in for about 2 hours at a time. Would it be less painful to get laser whitening treatment done as there is a place close to home offering this treatment lasting just one hour with apparently the same results?,

Would teeth look natural if I got veneers and whitening?

Hello I am 56 years old and am about to start orthognathic treatment which will probably take 3 years. In addition to the orthodontic problems that require this treatment, I would also like to improve the look of my teeth, possibly through veneers and teeth whitening. Generally my teeth are looking a bit yellow but my two front upper teeth are particularly bad, in that the lower half of each tooth is much yellower that the upper half and the teeth are slightly ridged. Therefore my question is: If I had veneers on my two front upper teeth would the rest of my teeth be able to be whitened and would it all look natural? My orthodentist has said that any cosmetic work should really be done after the orthnographic procedure is complete. I hope,

Can I re-use veneers if I have teeth whitened?

Hello I have had veneers on my teeth since the age of 16. I am now 34. I believe they have ruined my life and confidence. I belive they have been the cause of bad breath. I would like to remove them and get my theeth bleached/whitened. Is this possible and can i have my originals again? Thank you for your time.,

Should I get teeth whitened before or after implant treatment?

I have recently had a bone graft and am due to be having an implant fitted in the coming weeks (top, front tooth). I don’t currently have any other fillings but have never had a scale and polish or had my teeth whitened. Would you recommend having either or both done before the implant? Also, I have been quoted approximately £2500 for the implant – is that a fair price? Many thanks for any advice you can give.,

Can anything be done for tooth that has become discoloured?

Can teeth that have moved forward after braces be treated?
