Is tooth whitening bad for enamel?

Q. Hi Mr.Andrew, I am student in dentistry collage ,and i am intersting in cosmotic dentistry and would like to know about it as much as. My question about teeth whitening , there is many dentists avoiding doing whitening , they afraid from affecting enamel and they said that it has bad prognosis in most cases , what do you say about that ,and how we can avoid its problems if exist. thank you . zaid,
A. Tooth whitening can cause sensitivity but it doesn’t affect the enamel in the long term if the procedure is performed correctly
