Hi. I’m 18 years old. My jawline has always been a little weird, it’s a lot wider than any other girls I’ve seen. The corners of my bottom jaw are rounded, if i feel the corners of my jaw, its like the bone is deformed. I have an overbite, and I’m embarassed of the way my face is. I also have really bad dark circles. I’ve sucked my fingers all my life, even when I was in my mom’s stomach. Is this why my jaw is the way it is? and can braces help?

I have two overlapping teeth which cause one to protrude, what treatment do you advise?
Wednesday, April 13th, 20112 of my front teeth are overlapping …i think through being crowded. Other than that my teeth are fine. Do u think stb lingual braces would be suitable…and how much do you think it would cost around….its only the one tooth at the front that has been squeezed out. Thanks
What advice do you have for wisdom teeth that have forced teeth to overlap?
Wednesday, April 13th, 2011Please could you advise what to do when you have a canine tooth in this case my right, that has grown on top of or at least slightly overlapping the teeth surrounding it. My mouth is small and as my wisdom teeth have emerged all my previously straight teeth bottom and top are becoming more uneven. I would like to have braces perhaps but don’t know if an extraction bottom and top would be required before straightening could start. I would also like to have some whitening done but not sure if it is best to wait until the other problems are sorted first. I have never shown my teeth in a photograph and try not to laugh or smile as i feel it looks bad. If you have any advice i would be grateful.

I’ve stopped wearing my retainer and my teeth have moved forward, what do you advise?
Tuesday, April 12th, 2011Hi, I am 20 years old, I had braces from 13-18, i wore my retainer afterwards, stopped wearing it as much a month ago and now i can feel my front teeth coming forward, I put my retainer back on, but it doesnt seem tight anymore, I dont know what to do, I havent been to my orthodonist for ages, and dont want to go back because he will have a go at me for not wearing the retainer all the time. If I continue to wear the retainer will they stop moving forward? or do i need to get help? Thanks,
Am I at risk of decalcification from lack of oral hygiene and wearing damon braces?
Tuesday, April 12th, 2011Hi
I am 30 and 10 months ago I started orthodontic treatment with damon brackets. At first I was diligent with cleaning but as the novelty wore off the cleaning became gradually worse.
I am now worried about decalcification. Although I do have them professionally cleaned about every three months.
I explained my concern to my dentist who said they looked clean and I wouldn’t know if I have any white spots until my braces are removed in about a year.
I haven’t mentioned it to my Ortho.
I thought that the white marks appeared around the brackets and so I should be able to see if I have them. On inspection in good light I can’t see anything.
My question is if I can’t see any marks now does that mean I can still prevent decalcification? or do I have to wait (a year) and see.
Thank you for your time
