My dentist refused to give me temp dentures what should i do now?

Friday, August 7th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Moore. I wrote to you yesterday rgarding immediate dentures. Thank you for getting back to me so quick by the way. I had the remainder of my teeth removed this morning and asked my dentist about immediate detures. He refused to give me them and said that they are only used if you have one or two teeth taken out in the front, he said they are then used for apperance perposes. Because i have had all my teeth removed they would be no good for me. I have to now wait a month before i have to go back to see him. Should i be looking for a new dentist as i cant go without teeth for months and he is refusing me them. Thanks so much again.

My false tooth attached to my front tooth has broken what are my alternatives

Friday, August 7th, 2009
Q.
I am wondering whether i would be suitable for a dental implant after havin lost my front left tooth to a motorbike accident 17 years ago. I’ve had a maryland bridge since 1992, which was replaced by a crown attached to my right front with a false tooth attached. This has has now broken leaving me without two front teeth. I just returned from the dentisits chair wih my denture and tempoary crown. I am now at 34 years of age going to be wearing a denture and a crown as my dentist is reluctant to use my right front tooth to further support the left false one. My other alternative is two front false teeth. Please help.

If Ive an extraction how long to I have to perform a bridge or implant?

Friday, August 7th, 2009
Q.
Next to the last molar top left of my mouth has had a root canal & crown (lont time ago) with re-treatment of root canal about 5 years ago. After infection and appt was told the root is cracked (11/08). I hesitate extraction and subsequent implant for financial reasons. It has not become re-infected to my knowledge. I have had a headache for 3 weeks. Could the tooth issue cause this? If I have it extracted (partically covered by insurance) how long to I have to perform a bridge or implant? Are their other options? Again cost is a huge factor. Wish it was the back tooth – I’d have it pulled without anything else, however this effects my smile.

Is it possible to receive immediate dentures on NHS

Friday, August 7th, 2009
Q.
Hi. A few weeks ago i was told by my dentist that all my teeth had to be removed. I have already had top and bottom teeth out on my right side and am due to have the rest taken out. I have read on different websites about immediate dentures that people have after having all teeth removed. My dentist have not mentioned anything about these and i was wondering if they were only available with private patients. I am on benefits so am nhs. Is it possible to recieve these on the nhs or do i have to go without teeth until my mouth have healed enough for dentures? (not something i am looking forward too as i’m only 36) If they are available to nhs patients is it something that is offered or do i have to ask? Thanks very much.

My NHS dentures feel very tight will i get use to it? any advice

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009
Q.
I recently had to have a partial denture fitted as the bridge I had broke because the tooth supporting it decayed. It is a NHS denture and I cannot get used to it. It feels very tight and my whole mouth seems to ache. My question is- will I get used to it or is it badly fitted? I am only wearing it when I go out and I feel my whole quality of life is reduced. It it next to my front teeth on the left and consistes of two teeth.
