I dont have enough bone to have dental implant what are my options?

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009
Q.
My dentist has referred me to a surgeon for dental implants. As I have several teeth missing there is not enough bone and this will need to be increased. My dentist has said that this can be done under local anaesthetic with a synthetic material but my consultant wants to remove bone from my hip under a general anaesthetic. The first option is obviously more appealing to me. I would be grateful for your opinion.

Im prescribed with antibiotics before having implants is antibiotics really necessary?

Monday, August 3rd, 2009
Q.
I have booked an appointment to have an implant and my dentist has prescribed Amoxil to be taken before the implant and 200 mgs Metronidazole after the implant. Are these antibiotics really necessary given that I do not currently have an infection? What is the risk of infection if I don’t take the medication?

Would it be possible to pull the teeth and put in implant denture on the same day

Monday, August 3rd, 2009
Q.
I am 55 and only have 5 front teeth on top and 1 back tooth and each side on the bottom. I am not worried about getting the top denture, but I have a tiny bone ridge on the bottom. Except for the 2 teeth to extract, the others have been out for a year. When I go can they pull the 2 teeth and put in the implant denture on the same day. I thought they you may have to have the teeth pulled and let the gum heal before they will do an implant denture. Please tell me if it can be done. Thanks

All my 3 three teeth are stuck up in the gums what is the treatment required

Saturday, August 1st, 2009
Q.
Hello Doctor, I am a 22 years old female. 3 of my milk tooth on the upper jaw( both canines and right 2nd bicuspid) never fell off. one canine was removed 4 -5 years back in the hope of the new one coming but it did not. now xray shows that all the 3 new teeth are stuck up in the gums. infact the new tooth for my left canine is gone far up next to the nostril. Please suggest what sort of treatment will it require for these new teeth to be brought down. Thanks!

My two front teeth are in need of repair what is rough cost of implants

Saturday, August 1st, 2009
Q.
I have a front tooth missing and I am very interested in having a tooth implant. My two front teeth are in need of repair, maybe need to be replaced by an implant. Can you give me a rough estimate of the expense and how many appointments would be required. Also how many visits. I live in Scotland and would have to add on the cost of travel.

How long can we wait to get the implants done?

Saturday, August 1st, 2009
Q.
Thanks for your time today. I live in the United States. My husband had a back upper tooth extracted in March this year. Because of cost of an implant 2,000.00 We wanted to find a cheaper way. We found University of Texas Dental which will only charge us 800.00! But because of waiting lists we will not be scheduled a consultation till October. Is this too long of a wait to get the implant done? Our primary care dentist said to wait no longer than three months.

I had two dental implants but no crown what is the next step?

Friday, July 31st, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Solanki, I had two dental implants put in a couple of years ago, but as yet have not had the crowns fitted, as I moved to the UK, away from the dentist who was doing the work for me. I really want to get the work completed and also have a few other things that need to be done. What are the next steps for me? And does it matter that I will be going to a completely different dentist? Thanks, in advance, for your advice.
