Sunday, April 12th, 2009
Q.
Dear Sir, I am about to have a top RH canine tooth removed because of advanced decay. Can I have false tooth on a bridge connected to the adjacent teeth presently crowned. If so is it available on NHS? Your advice will be most welcome

Do I have any other options for my milk tooth rather than just wait for it to fall out?

Thursday, April 9th, 2009
Q.
I have a milk tooth on the front right side of my mouth (second tooth in if counting back from the middle of the front two teeth). Since becoming pregnant this tooth has become very wobbly. I have visited a cosmetic dentist who I felt comfortable with but wanted to guage a second opinion. He has advised removing the tooth and fitting a maryland bridge on using the adjacent two teeth to support then waiting six months and assessing whether to go ahead with a dental implant. There is no bone holding that particular tooth in place. I am nervous about having the adjacent perfectly healthy teeth ground down to support the bridge, especially if I am likely to have a dental implant in ix months time leaving this work unecassary, Do I have any other options – rather than just wait for the tooth to fall out? Many thanks.

Can i bond my two healthy teeth with a material that is not grey?

Monday, April 6th, 2009
Q.
Hi. I presently have a maryland bridge to replace one of my front teeth. Over the years my teeth have become more transparent due to loss of enamel?? The bonding material used can be seen through my other two front teeth. I would like to just replace this with another bridge but My question is, can it be bonded to my two healthy teeth with a material that is not grey and can be seen through??? Another option is a inplant but It looks like I will require a bone graft to insure sucess with this. I would prefer a less invasive procedure. If you could enlighten me that would be great.Thanking you in advance

Should i need to go abroad for cheaper dentistry?

Monday, April 6th, 2009
Q.
I’ve been quoted £9,000 for 7 Acrylic crowns,2 Veneers, 1 extraction and 1 Bridge (implant retained). Includes Study models, diagnostic wax up, panoramic x-ray and all the temporary crowns and veneers. How does this sound. Shall I do my homework and go abroad instead?

can i get some advice on receding gums on the area above my dental bridges

Monday, April 6th, 2009
Q.
Hello, I had some bridge work done about three years ago, I knocked my two front teeth out so I had a bridge put in and although I’m not having any sensitivty or pain at all it appears that my gums are slightly receding in on area above the bridge where the teeth are missing. it hasn’t gotten to the point where there is a space between the gums and the bridge but I don’t want it to get that bad. Also I use a sonic care toothbrush with a soft head. Can you give me some insight or some advice on this matter? Thank you for your time, JR

I am experiencing with my 15 year old bridge

Saturday, April 4th, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr Moore, 15 years ago I had what I think was a bridge carried out on my lower teeth. The technique involved wires connected to my back teeth (hidden below the gums), however, now the wires are starting to show on one side of my mouth and I am experiencing a great deal of pain in my lower gums. I returned from abroad after 5 years so I dont have a dentist in the UK. I am also very scared of dentists and in the past Ive had to be sedated before work can be carried out. Obviously I need to see a dental practitioner but dont know one that will use the sedation. My old dentist has now ceased trading. In your opinion which I know is difficult without a consultation, can the bridge be repaired or will I need a new one?

My bridge chipped exposing gray or silver metal

Saturday, April 4th, 2009
Q.
Hi; I have a permanent bridge and the tooth in the missing spot chipped. So now there is what looks like metal or cement or something gray and silver. I am considering replacing the entire bridge but not right now. My question is if I wait a little while what will happen to the exposed tooth? Can the bridge fall off? Thanks!
