Are lumineers better than dental veneers?

Thursday, March 25th, 2010
Q.
Hi. Are lumineers cemented in place with traditional veneer cement and if so how are they removed to leave the tooth underneath undamaged? Also, if the tooth is not cut down do the lumineers make your teeth stick-out? Are lumineers better than normal veneers? thanks,

Is it worth getting a crown that only lasts 6 months?

Thursday, March 25th, 2010
Q.
I lost my top tooth. It has had root canal treatment and was also a crown. My dentist says I can have a crown or a bridge. One of the teeth next to it is a veneer. He has sugested getting a implant but I can’t really afford it! There is no tooth left so I just wondered is it worth getting a crown as he said it could only last 6 months. What are the chances of the bone going as I might be able to afford an implant at a later date. What do you think I should do?,

Thursday, March 25th, 2010
Q.
i hit my front left tooth about 20 years ago and killed the nerve i got a cap i think put over the tooth and it looked like new then after a few years it started to have a blue tinge to it i got another cap put on but this looked bigger and stuck out more also the colour didnt match iv just been to the dentist because i really dont want it any more (had it about 10 years now) iv got a temp cap on just now getting new one fitted in 2 weeks but the dentist said it might be the same because my tooth is (only slightly) pushed forward and they had some trouble matching my colour im spending a lot of money to try and feel better about this tooth but am worried it will just be the same i dont understand how they cant make it fit like the first one i had is there any other options to get my teeth to look the same please help,

I really dislike my smile, what kinds of dental treatments are available for me?

Thursday, March 25th, 2010
Q.
hi, im really dislike my smile, its not that my teeth arent straight because they are but my top teeth sort of curl under a bit. almost a bit like a mouse!i had overcrowding when i was younger which got fixed with some being removed and then braces on the rest.but its almost like the braces then squished the remainder together. so now when i do smile, it looks a bit forced because i have to really smile hard to show any teeth!i was just wondering which method could help apart from veeners.many thanks,

Should I have a better denture made up? Any advice on this?

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010
Q.
Hi. I wear a denture with my two front teeth on and the two either side of them are crowns. The two crowns i have left are 22 years old and one of them is frequently coming out. I’m unsure wether to have a better denture made (a metal one) or to have a bridge done. Can you give me any advice? Thankyou,

Would socket preservation be the best option when my tooth is extracted?

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010
Q.
Thanks for reply.Do you think socket preservation would be the best option when the tooth is extracted? Our dentist would do it at cost as he has not done a live one before or the specialist would do it for approx £600.Does this sound right and what materials are the best? Cows bone was mentioned.,

Can you please advise me on how to find a very experienced cosmetic dentist? I have booked consultants with a few but they take one look at my mouth (large gap in front two teeth with overbite) look dismayed and say they can’t help me.,

Am I eligible for the inman aligner treatment?

Monday, March 22nd, 2010
Q.
Hi, I am very interested in getting the Inman Aligner to correct my top two front teeth. One of my top two fronth teeth sticks out more than the other. However one of my first premolars is a bridge and this bridge is attached to the canine and the second premolar. Do you think this would mean that I am ineligible for treatment? I am 24 and keen on the use of Inman aligners due to the benefits it gives to someone my age. Many thanks,
