Are lumineers better than dental veneers?

Q. Hi. Are lumineers cemented in place with traditional veneer cement and if so how are they removed to leave the tooth underneath undamaged? Also, if the tooth is not cut down do the lumineers make your teeth stick-out? Are lumineers better than normal veneers? thanks,
A. Both very astute observations ! Once lumineers are bonded on ( with the usual cement that normal veneers are cemented with) the only way to remove them is to cur them off. The underlying tooth cannot help but being cut with the drill. If a tooth is in the correct position or sticking out the tooth will be further out at the end!. Actually lumineers are the same as normal veneers and can only be used in the non-drill sense if the tooth concerned if it tilts towards the tongue.

I have porcelain veneers on my front teethback in 2000. I decided not to have them as I did not like the idea of having my teeth permanently damaged in order to be fitted with the venners. Ihave since read about lumineers and wondered if you had any further information about these. Could you give an indication of the cost involved. i.e. price per tooth? Thank you

My daughter broke a third to half of a front tooth as a child and had it repaired with a cap. Recently this came off (she is now in her 20s) just before she went on holiday and she had a provisional repair with filling material. She is now looking for a more permanent and esthetically satisfying solution. We heard of lumineers, which require no filing down of the tooth. Would you be able to advise and offer treatment for this? Thank you.

I have receeding gums and my dentist puts a white enamel-like resin over the exposed dentyne for cosmetic reasons and to reduce sensitivity. 6 teeth (4 upper and two lower) are treated. Thought due to over zealous brushing when young. How much would lumineers cost? I am healthy, BMI3D20, age 48, female,non-smoker. Good diet. Good dentition otherwise

What is the cost of the lumineers and the da vinci veneers per tooth. I’dbe interested in two. One has a porcelain veneer on already and the other did have but it fell off, I understand I’d need a consulttion but would really appreciate if you could let me know roughly what the cost would be.

hi i would like to know if lumineers can fit on thooth surface that is madeof composite material.. my theeth were discoloured due to decalcificationand my dentist drilled off the discoloured part of the thooth surface and manually made a veneer made of composite material.. now as the composite material changed in colour during the years i want to do 4 lumineer for the 4front theets. but i just want to make sure i don t get my thooth drilled and that lumineers can fit directly on the composite material. also i heard that lumineers come in just 1 colour and 1 shape and thought that probably make it look very unnatural.. can you pls tell me they can match the naturalcolur and shape of my theets, thank you

I have an aesthetic issue with my two front teeth. One was slightly brokenwhen I was ten, and with tooth erosion both my teeth are significantly smaller than originally, as well as asymmetrical. The erosion issue was corrected with composite material by another dentist two years ago and I am happywith the work, but now I am also considering Lumineers to correct the asymmetry. Do you think it would be asthetically satisfactory to have Lumineerson just these two teeth (i.e. if the contrast between them and the other natural teeth would not be noticeable) and how much would it cost? Thank you

hey there i was wondering pricing of veneers. I am with a nhs dentist at current. I had braces as a teenager and am now 21. The braces caused me to have a filling between the 2 front teeth that has since been replaced severaltimes. This has caused the tooth two front teeth to not look their best. Ihave had my teeth whitened ect however the two front teeth do not match due to fillings. I was wondering the price to have to veneers applied to my two front teeth thankyou

Hello, I am interested in getting lumineers as my two front teeth are crooked and chipped. My teeth are also stained so I would be interested in whitening also. Could you please give me a quote for two lumineers and tooth whitening please? Also, would you treat a 17 year old? Thanks

Hi, With Lumineers do I need to have gingevectomy? I have been quoted as part of veneer work 2x gingevectomy +2 temporary crowns +2 veneers totalling over £2000. This is on 2 front upper teeth that are slightly smaller and slightly less white than surrounding crowns. As the 2 front teeth are still “my own” I don’t really want to lose much of them and simply want something to improve theappearance of these 2 teeth which look dark and recessed on photos but possibly not too bad in real life!

the gingivectomy helps to produce the ideal length of the teeth and will help to produce the best final result so although it is optional it might still give you the best result
