I Have Dental Implants And My Bottom Denture Rocks Up And Down In My Mouth. Is This Normal?

Q.
Hello Dr Shaffie. When you get dental implants I would like to know how well are they supposed to fit into your mouth? Do you know if they are they supposed to rock up and down inside your mouth? Or should they be lying flat down on to your gums? I have dental implants and my bottom denture rocks up and down in my mouth. I don’t think my dentist has got them right and it worries me to think I might do some permanent damage if I don’t get it fixed. I hope you can help me with this problem. Thank you in advance for any consideration.

Hello, I must say I’m only too glad to help. Based on what you have told me in your enquiry I would say that if the denture fits nicely above your implants, it shouldn’t rock as It may loosen your implants. I would suggest that you should go and show it to a implantologist as soon as you can to check it out. I can take look and see to you if you want. Please feel free and come and see me. Thank you, Dr Shaffie.
