I Am At University And Unhappy With My Smile, How Do I Get This Fixed?

Thursday, March 7th, 2013
Q.

Hello, I’m very un happy with my smile. My two top front teeth are quite large, but they are square at least, the problem is the two next to them go back a little and are much smaller, which then makes me look a bit goofy! Also the two either side of them, (incisors? i think) come forward a bit and are still a lot smaller and very pointy so when i bite together there are gaps inbetween them and my bottom teeth. Im not sure weather much can be done within my price range, i am a 21 year old student at university and im not sure what the deal is with paying for dental care now, however they are making me very un happy so am willing to work hard to try and get them sorted. if you could perhaps give me a idea of what sort of treatment would work for this i would be very grateful. Im sorry its quite hard to explain, but if i could perhaps send a photo of my teeth to explain better. that would be brilliant too. Thank you

Can I Have Veneers If I’m Only 22?

Tuesday, February 26th, 2013
Q.

Hello Doctor Hughes, I have been suffering with abscesses in my gum for as long as I can remember I’m only 22 and have about 10 if not more a year…some bigger then others, I have asked my dentist what I can do but haven’t really got any good advice off them. I have had one of my teeth drilled and drained but it keeps refilling. my bottom teeth come away from the gums and cause pain and unpleasent feeling. I brush my teeth twice a day some times more, just can’t take the pain no more and need to do something about them. I have been told to look into veneers but I do like my teeth there not horrible … And do think I am young to have them. Just need help or pushed in the right direction to stop all this pain thank u for taking time to read this.

Can You Treat Infection Without Replacing Existing Veners

Wednesday, February 20th, 2013
Q.

I’ve had veneers placed in my two front teeth about six years ago due to a tragic blow to my two front teeth. I recently went to a dentist in regards to a wisdom tooth that is coming in, when looking at the x-rays my dentist noticed that there was an infection around the two veneers, examined the two small blister like bumps at the very tgop of my gums where my veneers are. She then right away said I needed to see a specialist in regards to a dental implant. I was so worried and know this can cost MORE than veneers. She didn’t say if the infection has spread to the bone, but did notify me if I waited x amount years it could.
Is there any other solution to treat the infection so that way my veneers DONT need to be replaced?

My two front teeth are large and I know I won’t benefit from braces, so what are my options?

Thursday, December 6th, 2012
Q.

My two front teeth are much longer than the rest and make me look goofy. I’ve been bullied most of my life for it and finally need something done to fix them. They don’t protrude so there would be no benefit of Having braces. I have heard of people having them filed down, is this possible and what are the advantages and disadvantages as i have heard that your teeth can end up with sensitivity issues afterwards. Also can you tell me What other options are available please?

I suffered from Bulimia in the past and this has affected my teeth, what can I do to fix them?

Wednesday, December 5th, 2012
Q.

Good Morning,

I wanted some advice on veneers and prices. My two front teeth at the top looked cracked and are slightly discoloured. This has been a result of Bulimia in the past. What can I do to rectify my teeth, as am worried about there appearance and are they weak and will they fall apart without veneers. It is only those two teeth I am mainly worried about as they look the worst. I have my bulimia under control but need to sort out the appearance of my teeth. I am also on a very strict budget so need to look at all my options, but if I dont get my teeth done they physical appearance of them looks even more depreessing to me.

Many thanks

How could I go about fixing my tooth ridges and unbalanced incisor teeth?

Friday, November 30th, 2012
Q.

I have straight top teeth due to braces, but I still have a back brace on them. The bottom of my top teeth have many ridges in it and don’t give off that polished hollywood smile look. I also have lateral incisors which look really unbalanced in my mouth I think. My teeth are also really oval and I just want to have that hollywood smile. Also my teeth are slightly transparent, on my top teeth its at the bottom and on my bottom teeth its at the top. Is this due to drinking fizzy drinks, cause I don’t drink that much of them. Is there anything that can be done to fix these problems? I.e. make my teeth straighter at the bottom, also to make them wider and perhaps to add some colour back to them?

What can I do to hide the gaps in my teeth?

Tuesday, November 13th, 2012
Q.

I have gum disease and have developed gaps in between my front teeth as well – could I still have cosmetic dentistry to fill the gaps? I am 62 and have several fillings and one recent crown but I am embarrassed by my gappy smile which has only become a problem in the last few years. I am worried that veneers or suchlike will irritate my gums. I am also a bit of a wimp! The enamel on my teeth is quite thin though my teeth are not as sensitive as they used to be since using Proenamel toothpaste but I don’t want to have anything painful.

I’ve just registered with an NHS dentist and was just wondering how much it would cost to get 10 teeth replaced at the top. With nice white one s and 9 at the bottom. This problem has seriously knocked my confidence and I can’t talk to people with out covering my mouth. All in all I need help and I need it fast I can’t live like this no more

Would me fang tooth that sticks out require tooth straightening or cosmetic dentistry?

Thursday, October 25th, 2012
Q.

Hi, I have a fang tooth on the upper left hand side of my jaw which sticks out and affects my smile. The rest of my teeth are nice and I would just like this tooth to be pushed down and put into alignment with the rest. However, I don’t think the gap is big enough for it to be pushed down which may be why it sticks out.

Would this require tooth straightening or cosmetic dentistry? Please can you advise the options open to me.Thank you.
