I am unhappy with my past root canal treatment should I pay my dentist or not

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009
Q.
A couple of years ago I went to a cosmetic dentist with whom I had 3 crowns done and root canal treatment on 2 teeth. The crowns were dreadful and stupidly I coughed up. When I had an appmnt. for one of the root canal treatments I was asked if Iminded another dentist doing it as the original dentist had gone to Germany on a course. The covering dentist had been shipped in from Manchester not only to cover for treatment but also to cover up the fact that his coun terpart was practicing whilst struck off. He tried far too long to find the root and it scared me of dentists to this day. I registered with NHS for routine checks after this. Just recently I approached another cosmetic dentist to re-do my crowns. After X Rays she said the root was damaged on tooth Mcr dentist did, but that she could extract it and bridge it to two crowns either side. She also said the other root canal was infected and needed treatment. This was going to be used in the bridge. I went for first appmnt and had panoramic x-ray and diagnostic wax-up. A couple of days later I went to my NHS dentist for routine check, explained to him what I was having done and he said that the teeth to be used in bridge weren’t very good and that I could be wasting my money as root canal could become infected again. As the cosmetic dentist had taken a large deposit off me I stopped the cheque and said I wasn’t going ahead but that I would pay for the appnmt I’d had. It was to be £350. I am peeved at having to pay this, and haven’t done yet. Shall I or shall I not. Sorry for the rambling but I’ve had it with dentists. I could even add to this. Please advise.

Is it possible for gaps to close naturally

Friday, April 3rd, 2009
Q.
My center incisers have always been nice, when i was younger i had gaps on both sides (between incisers and lateral incisers). throughout the years on began to close to a size i can tolerate. although one remains to stay the same size. I am 15 and have yet to get my 3rd molars. is it possible for this gap to close naturally like the other? with the growth of my third molars do this (if they dont have to be removed)?

What do you think of the teethgap bands for closing a gap in your 2 front teeth?

Friday, April 3rd, 2009
Q.
Dr. Moore, What do you think of the teethgap bands for closing a gap in your 2 front teeth? My teeth are very straight and except for the small gap in the 2 front teeth I am ver pleased with my teeth and smile. I have done some research online and it seems like most are very pleased with the results from the bands. The only negative feedback seems to be coming from professionals who have no interest in selling these bands and only offer more expensive alternatives like braces or invisalign. Just would like your honest opinion. Thank you,

I am very nervous, what are my options to close the gap in my teeth

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hello, I have the first two molars, on lower jaw, taken out by dentist when I was 13yrs of age,(no room for teeth he said) This was very bad experience and ended in hospital. Now unfortunatly I have just found out I have to have 3rd molar taken out, bottom right. I trust my dentist. She has given me choice of ,living with large gap, a denture or inplant. I dont realy want huge gap as allready a bit consoius of exsisting one. But I am very nervous of the surgery required for inplant as well as high cost. Does it hurt as the drilling into jaw sounds quiet bad. I dont want to be given another bad experience. I am 42 and dont want an awful looking mouth
