I had braces and I lost the retainer none of my parents ever tried to call and its been about 5-6 months since ive worn it. Nothing has changed except I have a tiny gap inbetween my front teeth is there anything I can do other than braces? And would invisalign be expensive for something small like that?

is there any permanent retainer that can be put behind the two front teeth to keep them together

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
I had braces the first time when i was in 8th because I had a gap due to a baby tooth that never grew in. I wore a metal retainer for awhile which had a temporary tooth to fill the empty gap that was now where my baby tooth should of been. Once I had the maryland bride put on my teeth were fine for a few years til about 12th grade then they the gap that was in front started to seperate again and the bridge of course started to get loose. Finally I got braces for the second time when i was older(the same orthodontist too) that work out good. I had a invisalign after that which kept them straight but the minute I took it out they moved. Anyway the dentist said I had a piece of tissue or something thats in the gums that no matter how much they move the teeth they will go back. Now that you read my story I want to know is there a permanent retainer that can be put behind the two front teeth to keep them together.

My dentist asks me to have bonded retainer and transparent retainer is it necessary

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hello doc.. i’ve been wearing braces for 1 and half years and I will remove them by next month.. so, my doc suggested bonded retainer and I’ve worn it since. Now, when the braces will be completely taken off, he asked me to wear the transparent retainer as well. Should I follow his advice or just go with the bonded retainer, and not wearing the transparent? or perhaps I just wear it for upper teeth? thanks for your help..

my teeth have come forward i am really worried about this what can i do for this?

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009
Q.
Dear DR. four of my teeth were removed when I was 14 as they were overlaid. And then I wore removable braces for some time and after that my teeth looked really nice and perfect. I had the loveliest smile out of all my friends. But during the past two years my teeth have come forward and now they look worse than ever before. I am depressed and worried about this as I have completely lost my smile. I m ready to spend any amount and I don’t mind even extracting teeth and all I want is to have my smile back by pushing my teeth back in to their proper places. When I go to my family dentist , he said that he only can align the teeth but not to push them back. I am really worried about this and I want to have the perfect teeth back somehow. So DR. what can I do for this? .please advice me

im 36 and the canine tooth has move outwards would it be a simpler as just having retainers

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009
Q.
Hello. I had a fixed brace fitted for two and a half years when i was 14 to straighten my teeth. The main problem at the time was over crowding causing a descending canine tooth to protrude over the other teeth. This was sorted out by the brace and my teeth were perfect. I am now 36 and the canine tooth has with time slowly began to move outwards so it is becoming prominent and is spoiling the curve of my teeth. Would i have to go through the whole process again (bar removing any more teeth as i had 4 taken out last time) or would it be a simpler and cheaper procedure as all the work has been done previously, such as just having a retainer of sorts? I hope this makes sense. Kind regards Clive

could my teeth be moving even with the retainer on?

Friday, April 24th, 2009
Q.
I have had a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth for about 3 months. Yesterday I noticed my teeth hurting like they did when I had braces and they were moving. The pain has continued into today. Nothing seems out of place or broken but the pain concerns me. Could my teeth be moving even with the retainer on? Thanks for your help!

Is it possible to put on a fixed retainer behind the teeth to hold them where they are

Friday, April 24th, 2009
Q.
I have been wearing a fixed brace for 6 months now and am really happy with how much my teeth have moved, but my orthodontist has still given no indication of how long I am going to be wearing it. I really want it taken off but don;t want my teeth to move back as soon as it is removed. Is it possible to put on a fixed retainer behind the teeth at any point to hold them where they are, as i want to request this? Or would they have to be at a certain stage before the fixed retainer would work? I am completely happy with my teeth as they are now but am not sure if my orthodontist wants them to have moved before removing the brace. I’d even be happy with a removable retainer if necessary.
