Should I Pay Additional Money To Have Gold Beneath The Two Front Bridges, Given That I Am Seventy Six?

Wednesday, January 8th, 2014
Q.

Hello Marcus, I have had most of my upper and bottom rear teeth replaced by four permanent porcelain bridges; about twenty-one teeth total. I am presently having five of my upper front teeth replaced with two separate bridges. I am seventy six years old .My question is: Should I pay the additional money to have gold beneath the two front bridges, given my age? Also, what would the additional benefit be in terms of longevity of the teeth? I look forward to hearing from you.

I Have A New Porcelain Bridge Which Feels Too High, What Should I Do?

Monday, October 21st, 2013
Q.

I have just had a new porcelain bridge fitted (4/5 upper left) and although the dentist insisted the fit was good I knew it felt too high, after much drilling I said it was okay but would let it settle for a few days. I feel it is still too high and plan to return to my dentist ASAP however I would like to know
a.) Will the constant drill undermine the new bridge? b.) Should a cantilever bridge fit under the gum line like a crown? My brand new bridge looks like it has a small space between bridge and gum line toward the inner side of tooth but again the dentist said through looking at X-ray it was an excellent fit. Please advise me.

Kind regards.

Which Material Would Be The Best For My Bridge?

Thursday, March 14th, 2013
Q.

Which material is better to make a
bridge? The original tooth that is holding the bridge is cracked. We know our chchoices are ceramic or metal back. I am 83 years old and am in pretty good health otherwise, no heart condition, diabetes, breathing trouble—just overweight. I take celebrex every other day, baby asprin, omneprozle, claritin genetic, and vitamins. i exercise about 4 to 5 times a week at a gymn. I have a hearing problem. I do not have false teeth. so my question really when it boils down to it is which is the best kind of bridge for me to go for considering my circumstances (age, health, supplements taken etc.) would the  bridge be better if it were, ceramic or metal back teeth?

A tooth on my bridge is turning grey, what is wrong?

Thursday, June 23rd, 2011
Q.

I had two lava bridges placed on my front teeth earlier this year because I was missing a tooth on either side (they never grew in). The bridge on the left side looks perfect but the one on the right has started to look slightly grey. I am very careful about taking care of my teeth everyday. What would cause this and can it be corrected? The other thing I have noticed since the bridge on the right was placed is that it doesn’t feel like it is on the tooth right. I can feel a small part of my tooth between the bridge and my gum line. Could this be the cause?

Does peroxide damage a porcelain bridge?

Friday, April 15th, 2011
Q.

I have a year old 6 unit porcelain bridge in top front of mouth .I notice that it not as white about the bottom 1/8 of an inch. On the two front ones. Its almost like they are clear and you can see a difference when I put my tongue behind them. Is this normal in some bridges? The bridge that this replaced was not like that it lasted 23 years. I lighten the bottom teeth to keep them as white as my bridge Im wondering last time I got a bunch of peroxide on the back of this bridge is making my problem worse? I have read that bleaching has no effect on porcelain. I appreciate your time in answering me.

Thanks,

I can’t afford to have my bridge replaced but it looks awful, can it be made to look normal?

Saturday, December 4th, 2010
Q.

Dr.Solanki,A year and a half ago,my regular dentist made me a bridge of 6 upper teeth,I have been unhappy since.I have expressed to him that when I DON’T smile big and when I’m talking,it looks like I don’t have any teeth! The teeth are perfectly aligned and look nice at the gumline but I can bite down on something flat and it is obvious they are arched upward.I told him this shortly after it was made but he just now finally tells me he can add on to my existing bridge with some substance to make them longer, and if it does not work he can remove the added on part and my bridge will not be damaged. Can this be done sucessfuly, look normal and hold up,and be removed without any damage?I cannot afford to replace this one(he says it cannot be removed anyway, and he has’nt offered)but this is interfering with my self confidence that I was supposed to be gaining from this procedure. Please help!
