I have unstraight teeth and an overbite. I have been advised fixed braces, a lot of repositioning at 36?

Q.
Hi I have unstraight teeth and an overbite of 1cm I have consulted an orthodontist and been advised that I would have to have 4 molar teeth removed and fixed braces, a lot of repositioning needs to occur. My question is I am 36 years old, my bones have hardened, what are the chances of repositioning teeth at this age? and having a good result? as I feel my teeth have less mobility than even a year ago.

I have an overbite my whole jaw is out of shape

Thursday, March 5th, 2009
Q.
I have been to see a cosmetic dentist and he advises I have an overbite resulting in only one of my teeth being weight bearing and my whole jaw being thrown out of shape. He tells me I can never wer dentures due to my top jaw and bottom jaw being tally diferent sizes, and suggests my only hope is either 5 implants or surgery to reshape my whole jawline. Both are expensive, involve significant amounts of surgery and pain. I am 50 and this sounds like a lot of treatment. Is it really needed?

My front two teeth have always been stuck out

Thursday, January 8th, 2009
Q.
My front two teeth have always been stuck out teeth so when I was younger I had a total of 6 teeth taken out but never a brace put on for some reason. I think I have a large overbite as there is a large gap between the top and bottom teeth when closed. I feel that the front teeth are pushing further forward – is this possible? When I wake up I can certainly feel that my jaw isn’t aligned and bottom teeth are much further back. Do you think fixed braces would push the teeth back, but I would need surgery to sort my jaw line out? Can this procedure be done only by a cosmetic dentist – would my normal dentist have to refer me?

are lingual braces are best for me

Monday, December 8th, 2008
Q.
I have read about a number of treatments and think that lingual braces are best for me i have a large overbite and small gaps in my front teeth. My bottom teeth are straight and dont need a brace. Could you give me a rough price and do you think they are suitable to correct my overbite.

Hi, I would like to ask if fixed lingual braces could be applicable to my case as I am not very keen on labial ones: my problems are: over bite, crowded upper front teeth and upper jaw needs widening. thank you very much!
