Hello again. Thanks for replying to my concerns of lower incisor extraction! Yes in answer to your question of ortho treatment. I currently have a fixed appliance on the lower anterior teeth (3 remaining incisors 2 canines and 2 premolars) Very discouraging to hear I night have to wear 2 lots of retainers and there is stil a chance of relapse. I was’nt told any of this by the ortho and if I had been would NEVER have gone ahead with the extraction and left my teeth alone. Surely it is the duty of the ortho to put the risks of treatment to the patient beforehand so an informed decision can be made by the patient. I,m so low at this time. Is there another option if I abandon thse fixed appliances and get the gap sorted out some other way and have bone graft to fill the socket. I’m terrified of losing my lower teeth! Had the braces on for 5and a half weeks!

Thursday, March 31st, 2011my orthodontic has referred me to a dentist, the dentist will have to extract my pre-molar teeth, 2 of them, now my concerns are:
1: removing my pre molar teeth, would this have any change on my facial profile such as looking thinner or jus different because of a tooth being extracted from the right hand side and the left hand side? (i mean permanent impact)
2:if it has any impact on my facial features then what are these impacts, i have done research and some dentists say that it could have an impact on the facial profile,
my dentist will extract two teeth from top right and top left, this will leave a gap, then my frotn 4 top teeth will be pushed back and this will fill the gap slowly, so i would liek to know if this process stop any facial impact
the thing with me is that i dont want to look different for example extracting my teeth is a worry to me becaue i fear this could change my facial feature hence chaning my gums within my mouth and effecting how my jaw line looks and cheek area looks,
please would u assist me here if you are able to answer this, plz reply immediatly

Friday, March 25th, 2011I have one tooth missing in the front at the bottom. My teeth are all crooked and need space between them. I feel that eventually the space will close up since the actual space is not that of a full normal teeth, it is the space created form the removal of a crooked tooth. Do u think that it is possible over time(has been 2 years already) that the space will close up if not, then what can I do besides an implant to get rid of the space.
I have Osteoporosis which I take Boniva for, will this prevent me getting braces?

I have had braces for around 2 years, and they were taken off last June….
I wear my retainer every night without fail. Recently though, my top 2 front teeth have begun to separate, so it looks like there is a little hole between the two teeth at the top. When I had braces, my front two teeth didn’t have a problem, it was other teeth.
Will I have to have braces again to fix this? Are there other ways this can be dealt with?
I am so unhappy because I take really good care of my teeth, no fillings or anything, is there anything I can do to close the gap??
Wearing my retainers don’t seem to reduce the problem…

Wednesday, March 16th, 2011Hi i have had quite extensive dental work done in the past ie. operation, braces….to pull down my canine teeth which lasted for over 3 years.
My problem is i still have gaps between my canines and first premolars and i think it looks terrible, is there any cosmetic work i can have done to make them look better?
