i ve a overbite and i was said that my jaw would need breaking will the result be permanent

Hi, I’m 33 yrs old and have had an overbite since my early teens. A recent enquiry with an nhs orthodontist indicated that a brace wouldn’t totally solve my problem and that my jaw would need breaking. My question is how much would I expect to pay, is it permanent and how good are the results as I would love to finally have a hollywood smile?

my top teeth at the front are over crowded and protrude forward i cant afford alot plz help

Q.
Hi I am i need a some good advice, all the dentist i have visited seem to be pushing me towards their most expensive treatments. My top teeth at the front are over crowded and the two main front teeth protrude forward – but thats not the only problem my two front teeth are a disproprtional size to the rest of my teeth and look like “rabbit” teeth. I hate my smile and am desperate to be able to laugh and smile without having to cover my mouth. Other dentists have suggested wearing a brace and have said this may help with the alignment my teeth will still be big at thje front and i would need further corrective treatment. I have limited funds and cannot affort to have lots of different treatments. Im so fed up i want to pull my own teeth out! Please HELP!!

Would home filling of a chipped tooth is safer than a private dentist

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009
Q.
Hi, about 10 years ago, when i was about 11 years old,i fell in the shower and chipped my front teeth. At the time, the dentist filed down my teeth to straighten them out but, i guess, he couldnt straighten them completely because of the bite. So now, i am left with slighty wonky teeth, making a small upside V shape between the two. This really upsets me and hinders my confidence. I recently went to the dentist to ask for a cap or some extra filing but he said he couldnt as the cap would be too small whilst filing would be problematic for my bite. But to be honest, i’m not to bothered about my bite as i have an underbite anyway, i just want my teeth to be straight! Is there anything i could do? would private dentists do the job? or ive even read about home filing on the internet, is this really safe? Thankyou…

Tooth moved to its previous position after removing braces suggest dos and donts

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009
Q.
Hello Dr, My top 4 teeth was little protruding, I had put braces for 6 months, actually all the teeths were crowded so doctor had made some gap in between so that my teeth will go in. It moved in but now it has come to the same position and it is shaking and paining. Please suggest what i have to do? If it comes back to the same position then it’s okay but if it protrudes more then it will be a problem. Please suggest what are the do’s and dont’s. Regards

i need to fix my gaps in my front teeth are there any other alternatives other than braces

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009
Q.
Hi, My problem is that in recent years my teeth seem to have moved and caused caps with the result of my two teeth at the front now protrude. My teeth have always been straight and so its a liitle disappointing to find as an adult they stick out. Especially as I had to wear braces for years growing up! My dentist has refered me to an orthodontist to assess and seems to think it can be corrected with braces over a long period of time. Not sure if I can bear the thought of braces again, so are there any other alternatives that are no to costly ? Be grateful for your advice Many thanks
