My teeth are back in the same position they were before my braces.

Hello doctor ,when I was a teenager I had a brase for a very long time,then I had an operation to correct my jaw and shorten my top gum I then had a cage like frame on my face.when the treatment was complete the cage and brace was removed,my teeth were straight and my face looked better.Problems started a few years later there is a gap between my teeth again, all my front teeth dont touch and my front teeth are now completely out of line from time to time I experience pain and the feeling that I can feel my teeth moving. I dont understand why this has happened I cannot afford private treatment I dont know what to do. thank you for your time

Hello questionee and thank you very much for asking me your question. To be honest it sounds to me like you do not have adequate retention. I would therefore say you maybe consider asking your NHS dentist for an orthodontic retianer to stop the relapse you are experiencing hope this helps
