Q.
Dear Doctor; I have a question about what is the best to have a hollywood celebritie smile : cerec o lumineere? Are both the same? what is the difference? I have a very pretty smile but I have one old ceramic in the front that I noticed is shorter than the next one. Thank you so much for the information

With the replacement of crowns and addition of lumineer veneers will gums recede and create more plaque?

Saturday, March 28th, 2009
Q.
My dentist is going to replace crowns on the 2 front teeth. He has also suggested to put lumineer vaneers on the two teeth next to the crowns, for cosmetic reasons. Will he have to scrabe the teeth first? Will there be any problems in the future ie if the gums recede? ( I am 53 years old). Will the teeth be affected in any way because of the vaneer ie collect more plaque? especially near the gums?

Wearing teeth due to grinding can i use lumineers?

Saturday, March 28th, 2009
Q.
I have/ had straight and beautiful teeth all my life, but I am a grinder and have been consciously grinding my teeth for the last 25 or so years. I am very vain and my smile is the core of my confidence. Now my teeth are worn down, cracked and yellowing. I would like to cap all of them (to close gaps and lengthening them) and add a couple of bridges (to replace missing teeth) but I don’t like the artificial look that some veneers give. And also don’t like filing down my natural teeth. Luckily with Lumineers they are thin and transparent enough to avoid both. But are they strong enough for my griding? And is there anything I can do to stop griding because my jaw and that whole area has shifted and changes (not in a good way). Can my case be helped and how? Thank you!

Monday, February 23rd, 2009
Q.
HELLO DR. I AM IN NEED OF SOME GOOD, SOLID ADVICE. I AM TRYING TO DECIDE IF I SHOULD GO WITH LUMINEERS, VENEERS, OR IMPLANTS. MY TEETH JUST NEED TO BE PRETTY EXCEPT FOR 2 WHICH NEED TO COME OUT. I WANT THE MOST NATURAL LOOK POSSIBLE AND DURABILITY AS WELL. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP? THE DENTISTS I TALK TO ONLY WANT TO SWAY ME TOWARDS THE MORE EXPENSIVE ROUTE SO I NEED ALL THE INFO AND ALL THE HONESTY YOU CAN GIVE ME ON THESE 3 CHOICES I HAVE LISTED. ALSO, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE DURATHIN VENEERS? I WANT SOMETHING THAT WONT STAIN AND WILL LAST A VERY LONG TIME. (AND PAINLESS IF POSSIBLE). THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME!

I am currently wearing Invisalign

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009
Q.
Hello ! I am currently wearing Invisalign, and am on tray number 11 out of 13. I am almost done with my case, and while my bottom teeth look perfect, my top teeth do not. The dentist shaved a couple spaces in between my teeth to create room for them to move, and while the spaces are not there very much, the teeth that were shaved are now different shapes. This makes me very self concious. My dentist recommended that I get Lumineers, but after paying 4000 dollars to have Invisalign, and the shaving required changed the shape of my teeth, there is no way I want to pay even more money to have Lumineers for something that my dentist ruined. My main question is, Is there any other way to fix the shape of my teeth WITHOUT getting veneers? I truly do not want veneers, even if money was not an option. If you could please let me know of a solution, that would be awesome. I can not ask my dentist because she will only push Lumineers on me. Thank You !

I already have porceline veneers on my top 4 front teeth

Friday, February 6th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I already have porceline veneers on my top 4 front teeth. I’ve had these for 14 years now and had very little problems with them. However, last year 1 fell off and I was fortunate enough to be able to have it fixed back on. I’m growing increasingly aware that I will need to have them all replaced at some point. My dentist has told me that I will need to have more of my teeth filed away to have another new set put on. I’m worried that eventually I wont have enough tooth to sand down and will have to go down another route with my front teeth. This terrifies me as I am very nervous at the dentist anyway. I’ve heard and now read about lumineers and wondered if they may be an option for me when I come to need these ones replaced. At least then I would hopefully not have to have any more of my tooth filed away. It also sounds like it’s a lot less uncomfortable! Can you let me know if lumineers are a possibility for me please. Many Thanks
