Can a Gap in My Teeth be Reduced by Veneers?

Friday, May 20th, 2016
Q.

I was born without the right lateral tooth and always had a gap between my front teeth. Now I am too old for braces and I had a rear molar removed in the back upper and the two front teeth have shifted over further, so much that the one front tooth is almost in the place that the lateral tooth should be in, so it is set back. I want to do veneers or Lumineers, but I am not sure what can be done. Please help. I went for a consultation and an orthodontist confirmed I am too old to start shifting teeth around but I already knew that. I left that practice because there was no alternative solution given, except root canal on a perfectly healthy tooth to shave down the length. I believe the gap can be lessened by veneers and if not corrected totally.

Can a Crown be Re-Shaped Using Veneers?

Friday, May 13th, 2016
Q.

I broke my front tooth in an accident 20 years ago. It had a metal-ceramic crown. A part of the root was also damaged, for which I had an operation to remove part of the bone from the lingual side. The new crown was very ugly shaped, different to the other tooth. Many dentists fear to remove the crown, others say to have an implant done, which I fear. Is it possible to restore the shape by means of a veneer or Lumineer? A dentist made a restoration with composite, but it is broken now, after many years.

Is There a Quick Option to Straighten Two Teeth?

Thursday, May 21st, 2015
Q.

Hello,

I have used Invisalign to align my teeth but the upper front 2 incisors are not perfectly aligned. As I do not want to have another round of Invisalign, is there another quick option just to make these 2 teeth a bit more straight? Also, could you kindly advise if Lumineers could be a solution or are they too thin? I do not want to affect the teeth so I’m not interested in veneers.
Thank you and best regards.

How Long do Lumineers Stay on the Teeth?

Monday, March 16th, 2015
Q.

Hi, I wanted to know how long Lumineers stay on the teeth? Also, if I go for veneers, are they going to grind my original teeth so that I will have no option but to always have veneers on them? Which one is the better option for me? I want to change my smile as I’m not happy with it. Can I have the procedure done on a payment plan? I want to go for Lumineers because I have heard it doesn’t damage your original teeth, but they stay on for shorter time than veneers. I don’t want them to grind my natural teeth though. What should I do?

Can Lumineers be Placed Over Existing Veneers?

Monday, March 2nd, 2015
Q.

Good morning. I currently have six porcelain veneers which were fitted 25 years ago. They need replacing but because my gums have receded considerably, I have a very sensitive mouth and gums. I would like Lumineers without the pain of drilling my current veneers off and preparing the teeth. Can Lumineers be fitted over current veneers or do they have to be removed?

I’m very phobic of dentists and would really like to be given a general anaesthetic for all my dental work, is this possible?

Should I Choose Lumineers to Close Gaps?

Tuesday, January 13th, 2015
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. I have gap between my front teeth, and I am not opting for braces because I know that gaps open up after some time. I was thinking about going for veneers but keeping in mind their durability and the fact that my teeth have to be trimmed, I am thinking about going for Lumineers. I’m just worried about if they will suit me? What should I go for? Thank you, any advice would be happily received.

What is the Best Treatment for Dental Fluorosis on the Teeth?

Thursday, September 11th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Gambroudes. I have dental fluorosis on both of my two front teeth. They are noticeably stained with large circular white marks, one on each of the two teeth. I feel that this affects the overall appearance of my teeth. I am 19 years old and I would really like to fix this problem. Would you recommend something along the line of veneers or Lumineers, or a treatment that is something totally different to veneers? I do not have a problem with the rest of my teeth, it is just the appearance of the front two that I would like to fix. I would appreciate any help you can give.
Thank you.

I’m struggling To Find A Dentist That Fits Lumineers, Do You Know Of The Nearest Practice That Has Experience With Them?

Monday, March 17th, 2014
Q.

I live near Sheffield and I’m struggling to find a dentist
that fits Lumineers, do you know of the nearest practice that has experience
with them?

 I have two front
teeth that appear higher in my gums making my smile look ‘wonky’ and I’m hoping
that Lumineers will rectify this rather than having to wear braces for a
considerable period of time.

I’m 34 and am desperate to avoid having braces due to the
time the treatment will take and the cost implications of having them too.

Thank you

Could You Tell Me If It Would Be Possible To Use Lumineers To Correct My Two Front Teeth?

Friday, February 21st, 2014
Q.

Hello Andrew. Could you tell me if it would it be possible to use Lumineers to correct my two front teeth?

They are set back further than the rest and also sit a little lower. Ideally I would like my two front teeth to be sitting a little higher up the gum and set forward with the other teeth.

At the side of the two front teeth, I have little ‘fangs’ which are slightly turning into the direction of the two front teeth. I would also like to have these fixed.

Braces aren’t an option for me due to the nature of my work, I am also not a candidate for Invisalign. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

I Want To Know What Treatments To Consider When It Comes To Teeth Whitening?

Friday, November 29th, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Shaffie. I am 21 years old and I have naturally yellow teeth. I feel ashamed when I talk with somebody and I’m unable to smile properly. What are the possible solution to make my teeth white? I want to ask where I can get treatment for my yellow teeth as I’m unable to attract people and wish to have a beautiful smile. I really feel very ashamed because of yellow teeth and I don’t even smoke, drink or eat junk food, I brush daily twice. But this doesn’t help.  Please give me suggestions to make them white. I hope you can help me with these problems.
