Q.
Hello, i have an overbite from sucking my thumb when i was a child. i recently went to an orthodontist to see about getting invisalign. he told me that i have i problem with my bottom jaw, that it was underdeveloped. and so i would need surgery to correct this problem. i went on the internet and found several of the same stories who went on to different doctors and were able to correct this problem with invisalign. which solution would you recommend?

Saturday, April 4th, 2009
Q.
Hello Mr. Moore, Oct.08 I was given 3%Citanest dental with Octapressin. This is the injection that appears to have caused me severe bruising swelling and loss of feeling in my left jaw after partially removing a nerve.Discussions with my GP resulted in speculation that it had entered the blood stream. Thanks for listening.

i have a significant overbite and a small lower jaw. Do I have to pay for the surgery and how long do i have to wear braces?

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
Q.
Hi I have a significant overbite and a small lower jaw. I believe this was due to a dentist taking out the incorrect number of teeth when i was 8 years old. WHen I was 17 I went to an orthodontist who said I would need surgery to move lower jaw forward and braces which would cost £2000. I am now 25 and have been given the impression that I would need to pay for treatment and surgery as its not offered on nhs. Is this right? Also how long do you have to wear braces for before the surgery? Many thanks

I am not sure as to what cosmetic procedure I should undertake

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
Q.
I was wondering if i could get some advice. I have two front teeth which have crowns and my jaw is very narrow. My bite is around 10mm compared to the average. Although my teeth are fairly straight I lose confidence when I smile as my front teeth are very apparant. I have been to my dentist and looked at othodontic treatment but am not keen on having a brace (I am 33 years old)and do not really have the time to do so as I may be working abroad in the future. I have also had a impression and new teeth placed onto the result to see what I would look like, however there is not much difference. I am really eager to have cosmetic work done but not sure what I can do. Please help as its getting me quite down. Many Thanks,

Lot of pain in the area around an emerging tooth

Monday, March 23rd, 2009
Q.
Hello, I have a full grown wisdom tooth at the very end of my top right. So far there has been no problems with it. Now, at the very end of my top left there is also a wisdom but not full grown, its looks like its still emerging, but it hurts a lot. Im not sure if its an infection or if is just swollen. I can definitely see a big blob behind the tooth, like on the back wall of my mouth. My jaw feels very stiff, it hurts when I open it all the way. Its also really hard to chew food. Im going see my dentist on monday. Can you please explain whats happening or what I can do in the meantime to deal with it? Thanks.

Can my overbite and missing teeth be fixed?

Monday, March 23rd, 2009
Q.
Hi, I think i have an overbite, when i bite, my front teeth are further foward than my back teeth and it has made me paranoid for years, i feel my chin line is too far set back due to this and often practice pushing my jaw fowards but it obviously doesn’t feel natural and i forget easily, I did have a brace for about a month when i was younger, it worked by locking my jaw into place but i didnt get on with it, the dentist said he could break my jaw in half and fit a metal rod to push it foward but it scared me at that age! Also, when my dentist did the xray for the brace he relised that i had the teeth that are meant to be next to my front teeth missing (they wern’t in my gums to come down), therefore, my canines grew in the wrong place so are next to my front teeth and i hate them, i am left with a milk tooth where the canine shouldve pushed it out and on the other side, a gap where the milk tooth came out. my two front teeth have begun crssing over too now. i wondered what you would reccomend. Thankyou. Also, i have
