Injection from dentist caused bruising swelling and loss of feeling

Q. Hello Mr. Moore, Oct.08 I was given 3%Citanest dental with Octapressin. This is the injection that appears to have caused me severe bruising swelling and loss of feeling in my left jaw after partially removing a nerve.Discussions with my GP resulted in speculation that it had entered the blood stream. Thanks for listening.

A. Hi. There can sometimes be transient numbness after an injection for a lower tooth caused usually by bruising. I suggest you go back to your dentist and ask him to examine you to ascertain the cause of the problem
