what else would help to change my lower half of my face other than surgery

Sunday, April 19th, 2009
Q.
Hi, i think i am generally considered average to good looking, i get my fair share of compliments, however… I have recently had a photoshoot done, just for fun, and although i knew that i had a cross bite (that has been corrected on the nhs with braces, expanders etc) i didn’t realise the obvious difference in length of either side of my lower jaw. i’m horrified. it makes my face look stupid. i could never work out why i always had a horrible smile, but i think i’ve just sussed it. to be honest i can’t see what else would help to change the lower half of my face other than surgery. is this expensive. please help

How to get rid of a gummy smile and options for chin and jaw correction

Saturday, April 4th, 2009
Q.
Hi, Just a few questions if you could help? I’m 23 and recently coming to the end of my treatment from the damon braces. My teeth are still not perfectly straight, i still have a cross bit and over bite, but its much better than it was. I am looking at a few things to complete everything. One being how to get rid of my gummy smile. I’n not sure which option to take? My cosmetic dentist has said botox to stop my lip rising? but ive seen gum contouring or lip flap surgery, not sure of the name, but where they reposistion the lip? Second thing is my chin/jaw. I’m not sure if I should have a chin implant, neck lift of correction jaw surgery. Which do you think would be the best options and best prices? I’ve even considered going abroad as the fee’s are so much here in the uk! I hope you can help, Thanks,

I am not sure as to what cosmetic procedure I should undertake

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
Q.
I was wondering if i could get some advice. I have two front teeth which have crowns and my jaw is very narrow. My bite is around 10mm compared to the average. Although my teeth are fairly straight I lose confidence when I smile as my front teeth are very apparant. I have been to my dentist and looked at othodontic treatment but am not keen on having a brace (I am 33 years old)and do not really have the time to do so as I may be working abroad in the future. I have also had a impression and new teeth placed onto the result to see what I would look like, however there is not much difference. I am really eager to have cosmetic work done but not sure what I can do. Please help as its getting me quite down. Many Thanks,

my problem is my top jaw is larger than my lower one

Thursday, March 19th, 2009
Q.
Hi, Please can you help me. For over 11 years I have been waiting for dentists to help sort my teeth out.The first dentist sent me to a specialist that took a10 minute appt and told me it would cost £40,000!!! My dentist at the moment has been great and is trying to help me. The problems I have is my top jaw is larger than my lower one. I have a very small opening, I have lost all my back teeth and it is highly possible that i will lose my front ones if I cannot get help. I am 47 yrs and really do not wish to go through major surgery for my jaw also really scared if I have to go the denture route. Please, please can you give me some advice or ideas of who can help me. I live in Basingstoke Hampshire. I look forward to hopefully hearing from you. Kind Regards,

i used to have a very defined jawline but its changing

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009
Q.
Hi there.i used to have a very defined jawline but over the last couple of years it seems to be deforming. one side is getting thicker and more rounded and the other side feels like the bone is disappearing and there is a lump of bone on my chin, its causes my face and smile to be very asymmetrical and is giving my a very low self esteem. ive noticed that it gets worse after lack of sleep or when im stressed.this may sound weird bu t i can feel its growing/changing and it cause a slight numb pain(only on one side) i have looked it up on the net to see if there is a reason but i cant find anything. its upsetting me greatly. really hope to hear from you

I’ve found out I have a class II div 2 mal occlusion

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008
Q.
Hi there. Having done a little research into this, I’ve found out I have a class II div 2 (mal)occlusion. I’m keen to straighten my teeth but also to try and move my lower jaw forward a little, as it has a “weak” appearance in profile and gives me a double chin when I’m not even fat! I’m not sure how related this is to my teeth positioning, but it would be nice to try and tackle it. I’m wondering which methods are generally suitable for this tooth layout, and whether some might be more suitable for bringing my lower jaw forward, if that is indeed possible? Many thanks for your time.
