What brace options are available to me?

Friday, September 3rd, 2010
Q.
Hi I have a tooth at the top of my mouth that is at the back of my other teeth. I think I will need to have a tooth removed and a brace to move the teeth and push this tooth forward. Want brace options are available to me? I work at an office so would like to keep them as discrete as possible. Thanks for your help.,

Am I suitable for invisalign?

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010
Q.
I have quite crooked & crowded teeth. Both of my canine teeth do stick out & i would really love to have straight teeth. Would i be suitable to have Invisalign due to how cooked by two canine teeth are or is there a better alternative.,

Is there any sort of surgery that can be issued to fix my teeth?

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010
Q.
I know this is long, but I will extremely appreciate your time to read it. I’m only sixteen years old so I don’t really know what I am doing, however I do know that I desperately want a nice smile. I would like to know: Is there any age range on this aspect of cosmetic surgery or is it ok that I am sixteen? Also through the NHS I have been told that they will not do any surgery to correct my teeth because it isn’t a health risk, they have offered the choice of braces, however I am starting collage in September and don’t particuarly want to arrive with a mouth full of metal, also i understand that braces will take upto 2 years for correction. I really don’t want this doing and no dentists will seem to help me understand my other options, I have; an overbite, gaps mainly between my front upper teeth and my bottom jaw is slightly further back. Is there any surgery I can have to correct all these matters rather than a brace? It has come to the point where I saving up my money for this, and I will pay any price to be able to laugh without covering my mouth, and talk to the floor to avoid people seeing my teeth. I know you probably get thousands of emails, but please will you write back with some advice, thank you.,

Which would be better for me: 6-month smile braces or the inman aligner?

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010
Q.
Der Sir, I am graduating as a secondary school teacher next year and was hoping you could give me some advice on a straightening programme that would best suite my needs. I really don’t want to have to wear braces in school so I was looking into the 6 month smile of inman aligner programmes. Which do you think is the best? or are there other programmes that would be better? Thank you,
,

I havent visited a dentist for many years, and my teeth are crooked and discoloured. I don’t want to go through years of orthodontics. Are there more rapid options available?

Monday, August 23rd, 2010
Q.
Hello I havent visited a dentist for many years, I am 27 and am desperate to have somthing done about a crooked, discoloured smile. I went to a dentist approximatly 6 months ago but was disapointed at the response to my question regarding this. I (perhaps a little impaitiantly) would like somhing done that will allow me to smile with confidence again, but really dont want to have to undergo 2-3 years of invisible braces slowly straightening my teath. Is there any more rapid options available?? Many Thanks,

My son suffers from chronic mouth ulceration, what should we do?

Friday, August 6th, 2010
Q.
My son has suffered from chronic mouth ulceration since the age of 2. In the last year he has been given a diagnosis of a benzoate allergy and placed on a strick benzoate free diet. He presently requires extensive orthadontic treatment which will require him wearing braces. However we have received a letter today from his consultant informing us that one of the cements used contains debenzoyl, which can degrade into benzoic acid. My son’s allegies have meant that he has not been free from ulceration at any point since the age of 5 and although when keeping strickly to the diet it does reduce the inflamation and ulceration, it never completely clears up. The orthodontist has suggested putting part of the brace on and then wait and see how Fraser copes with this. However, his oral specialist has suggested that invisalign may be a better way to treat my son. Another complication with my son’s condition is that the membrane in his mouth is extremely fragile and any slight knock or rubbing will result in further inflamation and ulceration. On speaking to my son’s orthadontist he has appeared ill-informed and uninterested in questions relating to treatments other than the normal train tracks. I would be grateful it you could provide me with any further information or advice that may help this on going issue with my son.,
