My root filling has gone wrong can I hv an implant replaced?

Thursday, October 29th, 2009
Q.
Upper right incisor. I have a crown on metal post from 30 yrs ago. The crown was replaced 15 yrs ago. My root filling has gone wrong, x ray shows the root filling to have moved. I am recommended to have a apicectomy with an endodontic surgeon. Would it be better to remove this root and have an implant?

Q.
I have been receiving treatment to have an implant fitted to a missing tooth. Each time I see the dentist the cost goes up. Would it be possible to come to your practice for a check up and estimate of the cost? How much will the visit cost me?

What is the treatment for my teeth with gum disease

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
Q.
I am 59 years old. i have lost all of my back teeth due to gum disease. The last of the teeth were removed about two years ago. Since then, due to constantly chewing with my front teeth i am now having problems with them. I have tried a National health service denture but could not get used to it. What treatment would you recommend to replace my back teeth ? and to save my front teeth ?

Does NHS fit braces as I have teeth gap?

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
Q.
I was wondering i would be able to get vaneers or implants done on the nhs as my two front teeth at the bottom have formed a gap as all my bottom teeth used to be perfectly straight and no gaps until i became addicted to coca cola and i would like the replacements to look like my own instead of having dentures like old people have as i am only 30 years of age and as an adult would i be able to have a brace fitted to my top teeth on the nhs as i have got gaps between my teeth that i would like closed up.

Is bone graft painful and is it safe?

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
Q.
I’ve always had lovely teeth & visited the dentist regularly.About a year ago I noticed that every time I brushed, my gums would bleed. My dentist suggested various gels for gum disease, but now my top front tooth is slightly twisted and I still bleed. After having some x-rays Ive been told I have lost bone tissue and the next tooth may also come loose.I asked about implants. It has been explained to me that because there is a loss of bone an implant would not be possible at the moment.A bone graft/implant has been suggested. Can you give me some information on this.Where is the bone taken from? Is it done under general anisthetic? I am extreemly worried. I want my teeth to look good and I dont like pain.

Can implants replace my dentures?

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
Q.
Dear Rob, I have lost about half of my teeth. I had a set of dentures made up a couple of years ago, but find them impossible to wear, they are extremely uncomfortable. To compound this problem, all of my front teeth were damaged in an accident a number of years ago, and i have a habit of grinding what remains of them. The are becoming quite ‘threadbare’ and sensitive. I am also not in a position to fund the extensive dental surgery I would require to prevent further damage. I believe there are certain criteria that the NHS would consider adequate medical justification for funding implants, and I was wondering if a patient such as myself would fall into this group. Please advise. Many thanks,

Could you please analyze my teeth problem

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009
Q.
Several yrs ago I had 5 front teeth worked on. 3 are on a bridge 2 were on posts. 2 yrs ago one of the teeth broke off at the root (abssesed) and had to have it pulled. Now one of the front teeth which is on a post is loose. I went to a dentist and he tried to remove cap but couldn’t. He used what he called a blue bos. Felt like a hydaulic hammer. Now he says he will have to cut the cap off, replace the post & make a bridge for the front tooth, the tooth next to it (currently have to wear mouth piece and use one of my incisors for the bridge. My concern is what if the root which has had 2 prior root conals done on it (freak, yes) also breaks off at the root. The other side of this is fron tooth capped, next tooth capped, next tooth incisor tooth missing and part of bridge. So we are talking about my entire front teeth. I hope you understand and can help. I am worried. My dentist can’t get me in until Dec. 3rd, although he got me in in a week of never seeing him before and then again that very same day.
