Options for straight beautiful teeth for the older people

Sunday, September 20th, 2009
Q.
I am 61 years old and as seems to be with many older people I have considerable movement of my lower teeth resulting in them bunching in the front. My upper teeth now also appear to be moving and I would like to have them corrected. Is this possible? I should say I enjoy good health both orally and physically and participate in regular excercise and have never smoked. I visit the dentist for check ups regularly but have been told I am too old to bother with this. Your opinion would be appreciated.

I had brace in 18 now my front teeth have loosened a little bit is dental implants a best option

Friday, June 19th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I am 42 years old. I had braches when I was eighteen and now my denitst is telling me that my roots have been shortened because of the braces. My 4 front teeth have loosened a little bit and I would like some advice as to what I need to do. My dentist advised me to go to an orthodonist and have a splint attached to the 4 front teeth. My husband’s dentist advised to have those teeth pulled and get dental implants. What do you think would be the best option? Thank You

my crown is unstable is it advisable for me to continue playing the saxophone

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009
Q.
I have recently had a crown replaced on a lower front tooth. As my usual dentist has recently left the practice the new dentist carried out the replacement but felt it was rather unstable and that I should have had been advised to have an implant. She didn’t feel she could embed the post sufficiently due to concern that the root would break. From her comments about it not being a very strong repair I am now not sure it is advisable for me to continue playing the saxophone which is of immense significance to me. I don’t if you can advise me from this information alone but any guidance would be gratefully received.

can an implant be put in sooner than 6 months?

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
Q.
Over the Xmas period my front crown snapped off – I have had the rest of the tooth(left in the gum) removed this monday. Ihave opted for an implant and currently have a front tooth on a plate to wear in the meantime – this is awful! The other front tooth is a already a crown. I will be having a new crown on that tooth at the same time. As implants take such a long time I am desperate to know if there is anything I can do other than this awful plate which I have to remove to eat – which obviously is completely impractible when dining out or at work etc. A bridge makes me nervous as good teeth will have to be scaled down to fit it – can an implant be put in sooner than 6 months? I also have 3 weddings to attend this year – help.

I’m thinking of having implants for my top front 4 teeth and 2 teeth at the back on both sides of my uppers

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009
Q.
Hi I’m thinking of having implants for my top front 4 teeth and 2 teeth at the back on both sides of my uppers.I have dentures now, i want to ask do you have the top denture cut down or do you still have the upper denture covering the roof the mouth. I dislike my denture on the roof of my mounth because. 1.carn’t taste my food 2.new dentures ok but after 12 months there is a slight wobble. 3.find i carn’t pronounce words correctly -very annoying. 4.lack of confidence because i know they have sight movement. 5. When i sing or laugh out loud they move..Will implants all stop this. I will await your reply. Many Thanks

What is the right age of implants, what is the cost and how long does the procedure take?

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr. Moore, I doing searching for implants procedures when I saw the following site http://www.cosmeticdentistryguide.co.uk/implants.html with the case pictured at http://www.cosmeticdentistryguide.co.uk/images/implants/implantfull-before.jpg this is a lot like my son’s case. my son, (just became 18yrs) was in a car accedient a year ago and have lost all of his front upper and lower teath (except for one). I am wondering if he, at this age, can have dental implants, also how long would the whole process take, and finally cost of such a procedure. Currently my son is in the UK as a student. I would appreciate your response. best regards
