My front teeth has been lose for a year do i really need to wait for the embarrassing moment

Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Q.
Hi, Im 23 years old and have 4 crowns on my 4 upper front teeth. My dentist recommened them after an assault 3 years ago, He said the impact caused abcesses?I had them all route canaled but only 1 has a post. (I dont know why) The very front right has been lose for almost a year I can feel it move slightly when I suck on my tooth and I can push it with my tounge. I saw a dentist a few months back that said he didnt want to “mess with it” because it may be the tooth thats loose, not just the cap. But after living with this for a year, I’m growing impatient with not being able to bite into anything with my front teeth. Do I really just have to wait for the embarrassing moment when it finally comes off or out all together? Its killing my self esteeme, not to mention I paid heavily for my teeth in the first place. Thanks.

I have rare gums disease would the veneers last as long as expected in given circumstances

Saturday, May 30th, 2009
Q.
I am undergoing treatment with my dentist as i have a rare case of gum disease which is a big concern. The extent of it i was told would be what you would expect to see in someone 25 yrs or more older than myself. i also have a problem with the appearance of my teeth as the bite don’t come together. I am very self conscious about the appearance of my teeth and am desperate for a solution. my dentist has reccomended veneers but am weary of having that done because of the cost of the procedure and due to the severity of the gum disorder, ie would they last as long as expected given circumstances. I was wondering if an option would be to have problem teeth removed and bridged across?? Please help!!!!!

Even having the tooth out five months down the line I still left with very sore gums any suggestions

Friday, May 22nd, 2009
Q.
In January of this year I was experiencing chronic toothache and sore gums but the dentist couldn`t find anyting wrong with my teeth. several fillings were removed and replaced and still i was getting toothache. I went to see a root canal specialist who couldn`t find anything really wrong but suggested the tooth came out.Since the tooth coming out I have had several pieces of bone appearing which have had to be removed and my gums are still store and I still feel there is bone coming through although an x ray revealed no more tissue or bone should come through. I saw a facial consultant and he originally thought i had an abccess. so even having the tooth out five months down the line i am still left with very sore gums. any suggestions as i don`t know where to go next

I am a smoker and my gums look awful now! They’ve gone quite dark in areas and I’m very conscious of them especially when smiling. Is there any solution to restoring the colour, be it treatment or surgery?

i had a bits of plague and it was untreated by the NHS dentist can it be retreated for free

Monday, May 18th, 2009
Q.
Hello, I am 21 and i have 2 children and receive a benefit, I can not afford private treatment so i have to rely on the NHS. I was seeing an NHS dentist for several monthes and 3 teeth needed work. One inperticuar was giving me lots of pain and when i went to him he never cleaned my teeth, he never drilled the teeth or took decay (i now realise that he should have done that for treatment to work). so he just kept putting filling material over the tooth and it kept coming off coutless times, he must have put filling over the tooth at least 5 times and everytime the fillig came off more of my tooth came off leaving a big hole, then he filled it again and i told him after this time i was still getting pain but he just said rinse it with mouth wash. i was told by the receptionist when i wanted to make an appointment that they had left the NHS, i was left with the same problems but bigger and an emergency dentsit said that the tooth should be removed due to absess formed and there was two other teeth that were undertreated too and treatment never worked that he did. I was told i had bits of plaque in my gums by another dentist (NHS) who did a cleaning for me but the other dentist never did this, just let it get worse, is there any way i can get that tooth replaced for free? like an implant? because i wouldnt feel comfatable with wearing an removable onebecause i feel if the dentist treated the tooth properly in the first place it wouldnt have resulted in this happenening. is there any way i can claim compensation for the correcting of these problems? because he had a duty of care and didnt provide the proper standard of treatment or are there any hospitals that will give me free treatment if they know my situation? i have been so depressed since this happened, i am sorry for the long read but need advice and would be grateful. Also just to add do they give dental payment plans to people on benefits? Thanks i would be grateful for your time and advice

could you tell me what sort of crown is best to avoid the dreaded gum line any advice

Monday, May 18th, 2009
Q.
I recently visited a dentist to have three private crowns fitted assuming colour choice etc would be better. I clearly stated that I wanted to avoid a grey line at the gum and agreed to three ceramic crowns at £500 each. However at the appoint to start the procedure, the dentist said they were going to fit porcelain crowns and when I again mentioned a ‘grey line’, they said it would be an extra £50 per tooth to avoid this. Then when it came to choosing colour, they pulled out a rack with about 8 different shades each on a little wire. They were all quite yellow and none as white as my other teeth (which aren’t overly white anyway). They told me that if I wanted anything white, I would have to travel to a dental lab… and it would add a further £50 to the overall price. Surely, when paying for private cosmetic dentistry, you should have more of a colour choice. Also, could you tell me what sort of crown is best to avoid the dreaded grey gum line. Any advice or guidance is much appreciated, thank you.

my denture are little large and i was wondering how long it takes the gums swelling to shrink

Monday, May 18th, 2009
Q.
I’ve had all my teeth removed for full dentures. The top denture seems to be a little large. Removing the teeth was done five weeks ago. When I smile it is all gum and teeth. I was wondering how long it takes the gums swelling to shrink to where the temporaries look all right. I was wondering if most peoples temporaries look this way or if it is possible they may have used the wrong size of impression mold. Also one side of my dentures are slightly lower then the other when I smile. The dentures seem to stay in my mouth all right. The gums are oversized. Is this normal? Thank you,
