Hello Dr Hughes. I have had a number of teeth extracted over a 5 year period, the last being a year or so ago. The gum has now fully healed leaving no hole. My question is: Can I now get an implant? A replacement tooth to fill the gap left behind from a missing tooth even years after the tooth was extracted? If so, what is the procedure and rough idea of costs for 3 replacement teeth? Does it involve making a hole in the gum to place the implant in? Thank you.

Now My Gum Has Fully Healed, Would It Be Possible To Have Three Implants? What Would This Cost?
Wednesday, May 14th, 2014I Had An Apicoectomy Last Week. Will My Gums Grow Back And How Long Will It Take To Heal?
Thursday, April 10th, 2014Hello Dr Hughes. I had an attempted apicoectomy last week. He cut a lot of my gum to expose tooth number 19. Because of an infection the Dr felt he did not want to take any more bone away and I should go the implant route. He closed me up. My gums along the tooth and teeth 20 21 22 are very exposed and sore. I feel as if the roots are partially exposed like I had significant recession. Will this gum grow back and what should I do if it doesn’t? I am in quite a bit of pain at the moment. Could you help me and tell me what I should do. Thank you.
After Learning About The Chao Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation Technique, I’d Like To Know When This Would Be Available In The UK?
Wednesday, January 29th, 2014Hi Mark. I have a question for you. After learning about the Chao Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation technique, I was wondering when we would see this technique available in the UK? It seems to be a real alternative to the dreaded gum graft with similar if not better results, which is suture and incision free, whilst also taking less time to carry out with a better and more comfortable healing time. Is this something we will see in the UK in the very near future? Thanks!
Can I Still Get An Implant If My Gum Has Healed?
Thursday, January 31st, 2013I had a molar removed from my top teeth approx 2yrs ago as it was infected could not be saved. I now have a gap. the tooth next to it is a crown but I have now been advised by my dentist that it is loose and will need replacing and the tooth removing as I would not be ble to have another crown. I would like an implant for the missing tooth as well as the tooth that will need removing. But my dentist has said that I would not be able to have an implant as the gum/bone has healed but I might be able to have an implant with a tooth attached so I have 2 teeth. Is this something that can be done?
How long will it take for my gums to heal after having 15 teeth extracted?
Monday, August 13th, 2012How long does it normally take for gums to heal after an extraction of 15 teeth before someone can be fitted for dentures. I know that there are some places that do immediate dentures but i can’t afford that. I am going to get my teeth extracted next week there are 15 teeth all together one has a cap and one is a wisdom tooth. I don’t want to be without teeth for a long time so if you could please just give me an estimated time i would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

Would you recommend a metal plate for longer term use?
Friday, December 3rd, 2010I have been advised by my dentist that I need to have 3 teeth extracted because of root problems. It may be that a 4th tooth could also be extracted. I already have ab acrylic plate for 1 tooth which needs daily fixing. I am told that I can have a metal based plate or stick to acrylic plate. I understand the metal plate is stronger but more difficult to add teeth and hence the rationale for taking out the extra tooth. Is the metal plate more likely to stay in place. I understand there is a significant price difference. What would you recommend

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010I have a crown on my right canine tooth, the root has an airline fracture,i have been to a private dentist who has taken several x rays and impressions,i was expecting him to say i could have a bridge, but he has said the root should be surgically removed. I also have 3 other crowns the left canine being one of them and the same has been suggested for this the root is not damaged on the left side.A plate with false teeth, I am in a state of shock there is no way I could tolerate a plate.Should I get a second opinion?.
