Can I have a bridge fitted for a crowned tooth that has a hair line fracture?

Q.
I have a crown on my right canine tooth, the root has an airline fracture,i have been to a private dentist who has taken several x rays and impressions,i was expecting him to say i could have a bridge, but he has said the root should be surgically removed. I also have 3 other crowns the left canine being one of them and the same has been suggested for this the root is not damaged on the left side.A plate with false teeth, I am in a state of shock there is no way I could tolerate a plate.Should I get a second opinion?.
A.
Yes although he maybe suggesting this as a short term option while the gum heals after the removal of the teeth, you could consider dental implants or bridgework once the tissues have healed. Perhaps its worth checking with another dentist if you’re not sure what the best thing to do?
