Can I close the gaps in my teeth?

Friday, April 2nd, 2010
Q.
I have a gap in the front of my tooth, What are the ways that this gap can be closed some dentists have suggested having braces and other dentist has said to have veneers but know I dot know what to do. I think that braces might take too long and I dont like the look of metal braces. WHat do most people do to close a gap in a tooh?

Should I have a gum graft or a bone graft?

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010
Q.
Dear Patel, I am currently dealing with gum disease, my gum line has dropped/recessed badly and also causing space/hole in between of teeth and bone lost. My periodontist has suggest to have a gum graft for the gum recession. I was wondering if I should instead to have the bone graft or just the gum graft? In addition, does the gum graft will close up the hole in between the teeth? If not, what are my other opinion for that? Many thanks.

Do I have to put up with the gap for the rest of my life or can something be done about it?

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr Butt I have a gap in my front teeth which has happened over the last three years due to a problem with my gums. I have asked my dentist if he could fill the gap and on the last visit he said he could fill it with bonding. He wouldn’t advise veneers or porcelain as they would be too heavy and may weaken the tooth as the density of the bone had diminished due to the gum disease. I visited him today and he now advises that I dont have the bonding done as he feels the gum is still inflamed. I am really upset as this gap looks ugly. Please can you advise if there is a way round this or do I have to put up with this gap for the rest of my life? I am 58 years of age. Kind regards.

I may need to have a tooth removed, can I have bridge treatment to fill the gap?

Thursday, March 25th, 2010
Q.
I have upper right tooth No 6 missing already and my recently root filled No 7 is so painful that I think it may need removal. If this is done, is it possible to create a bridge between No 5 and my wisdom tooth (both of which already have fillings). I am quite young and really dont want such a massive gap.,

I still have gaps in my teeth after wearing braces, any advice?

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010
Q.
Hi Doc, I am 28 yr old female from India. Last year I underwent orhodontic treatment with white wire and clear brackets. Now after 1 year, the dentist has removed the braces. But i still see gaps between all upper teeth except front 6 teeth. The dentist has put me on clear retainers and said that the gaps will go on their own in long haul. From front my smile looks good but from side it shows gaps which is not appealing to me. Doctor please suggest what you think will be right. Coz in other ppl who have undergone orthodontic treament I havent seen such gaps. Thnx in advance,
