I had a collapse after having the lignocaine as an anesthesia can u advice on it

Friday, August 14th, 2009
Q.
I am 58 yrs old and had before dental works and extraction with (xiline) lignocaine +adrenaline as anesthesia. But 2 years ago, when the same anesthesia was injected to me, to remove one tooth on upper maxilary, I had a collapse (immediately my ears got blocked and I could not hear at all, I almost fainted and my breathing was fast. I was laid down on the floor for 3 hours. Since then I am afraid to go to dentist, althoug I need urgently to restore my teeths? PLEASE help me, what kind of anesthesia can I use not to have these symptoms? I live in Bucharest and I’ve tried all and nobody knows why, some say the anestesia was wrongly injected, some say I may be allergic to lignocaine(Xiline). I am not sick with heart, but I have hypothiroidia (some small nodules). Please help. THANKS

Is it possible to use CEREC in conjunction with implants

Friday, August 14th, 2009
Q.
After a blow to the mouth, 30 years ago, which broke the roots of my 2 front teeth, I had an apisectomy, then veneers. I was told the teeth were too weak to crown, but eventually crowns were fitted and have lasted well. However, I cannot bite on those teeth, and i dislike their appearance. I am now condidering implants, but my brother’s recent experience has worried me.He has been fitted with a very unattractive temporary crown while the gum-surgery heals. My question is: is it possible to use CEREC in conjunction with implants – or might it be possible sometime in the future? If not, could I have my injured teeth re-crowned, using CEREC, or would there be a risk of further damage? My present dentist thinks they are too weak to re-crown and that the new crowns may not last for more than 10 years. But would CEREC (which he doesn’t do!) make a difference?? Many thanks for your help.

My daughter is 10 and the dentist has advice to have crown fitted on her is it the best option?

Friday, August 14th, 2009
Q.
Hi. My daughter has had trouble with her teeth since she was a toddler. I have been advised that this was due to her having suffered from a severe bout of Chicken Pox at the time when her tooth enamel would have been forming. Now aged ten, her dentist has advised that when all her adult teeth are through, she should have crowns fitted. Can you tell me, is this her best option? Also, because of her age, this will be done ‘on’ the NHS. What materials should we expect to be used? I’ve been told crowns should last between 10-15 years, if the materials used are of good quality. I’d hate for her to be troubled by her teeth all her life. Thanks.

My bridges are fairly secure but small amount of food could get in How can I fix it?

Friday, August 14th, 2009
Q.
I have had a crack in the first tooth of my bridge in the front lower jaw for 4 months. I am concerned that although it is still fairly secure there may be small amounts of food & sugary drinks that could get in and over time could start to decay the post. I had this bridge fitted 35 years ago & also have a crown next to it. I have been told by my dentist that the work does not warrant nhs treatment as it would be classed as cosmetic and I’m not sure what to do.
