I’m petrified of the dentist but I need to have my teeth fixed, please help!

I am petrified of the dentist, ever since 1971 when the dentist took out back tooth without any medication. I am now embarrassed with a front broken nearly black tooth, I have paid nearly £90.00 in cancellation fees, I need to get it done, I get to the doors and panic and turn away, i cry for ages before I get to the office. I have a root canal infection, what should I do?

in june, 2009, i had surgery on #12 and 13, due to root canals were unsuccessful. I have had severe infection in these teeth. I have burning tongue syndrome and my doctor said it was due to my teeth, what do you know about this problem?

What do you know about Burning tongue syndrome? I went to my doctor because for the past 3 months my tongue burns not so bad in the morning, but as the day wears on it gets worse. My doctor said it’s something probably has to do with my teeth or a nerve in my mouth etc etc… I have a dentist app. but they can’t get me in for 2 weeks. Now you are asking me why did I wait 3 months? It started off not bad and not bothersome and now I’m just done. I’m a female 53 and done with menopause if you needed to know that.. Thank you Ann,

Will I get an infection if the gum closes the little fragments off?

Hello Dr. Caplan, I had a root canal treatment in one of my first molars before delivery with my first child. i did not get a filling during the pregnancy fearing any pain or complication. two days ago it has fallen off on its own (i know, its sad i could have saved it), and i cant see my dentist for a few days. thing is, only a few pieces are present in the gum and the gum feels like its closing them off. its not too painful and there’s no inflammation. should i rush before that happens? will i get an infection if the gum closes the little fragments off? i will be really thankful if u answer. thankyou,
