What is the best treatment for my chipped tooth, veneers or lumineers?

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011
Q.

Hi I have a front upper tooth chipped (a nip underneath when I was hit with a stick many years ago- only mentioning this in case you think I don’t look after my teeth) I have had it repaired with something that was bonded onto it although it still shows a hair crack line where the join is barely visible unless seen close up. Would it be better to have a veneer or a crown as regards longetivity and if so how much will it cost? Also out of interest are there any technological advances better than lumineer or other long term solutions I heard a while back in the papers that a technique was being innovated whereby a whole tooth could be re-grown somehow. Many Thanks!

What should my crowns be made out of to match my veneers?

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011
Q.

Hi Mark,

I want to ask you … what are the best front crowns for colour matching against a vaneer for your front teeth? and how long do they last in comparison to the porcelain on metal or all porcelain. I would love to have my teeth whitened but have been told by my dentist that it is not possible to do on crowns and vaneers?

Please could you advise

Many thanks

What is the best way to straighten teeth, braces or veneers?

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011
Q.

Hi,
You recently did a fantasic job on my sister and i was hoping for some treatment/advice.
Generally i have good straight teeth, years of braces, etc however recently ive noticed (prob always been like this) that the front two teeth, one of them slightly sticks out than the other one, the difference is slight, but bothersome.
Cosmetically, what are my options? Are we talking braces, or veneers..If veneers, then would it be just on one tooth?
Thanks for reading.

My front two teeth are not the same size, what can I do?

Friday, May 27th, 2011
Q.

Hello Doctor

I have an over bite and generallly my teeth are not crooked, but not all the same size at the front so my 2 front teeth look bigger and stand out more, any proceedure that can improve this as feel very unconfident when smiling. i do look after my teeth and visit the dentist on a regular basis, but feel very insecure about how my teeth look, not sure if veneers would be able to help me with this. I think its amazing how teeth can look so much better and improve your lifestyle and confidence once having them made perfect, the perfect smile makes all the difference i think. thank you for your time

I have a big gap in my front teeth, what is the best way to close it?

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Q.

Hello, i’m 17 and have quite a big gap in my front two teeth and the teeth either side also have a slight gaps. 3years ago my dentist told me that the gaps would close naturally quite soon, but nothings happpened. I really hate smiling in photos as I hate showing my teeth. the bottom row are fine. to give a rough idea, my teeth are similar to how the 1st womans were on your portfolio and i’d like to have my teeth like hers are now. I’ve heard veneers would be good, but don’t last long and can crack easily. what would you think the cheapest ways are to fix the gap? can i permenatley get rid of the gap or will it always be there? thankyou

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Q.

Hello doctor,i wonder if you could help.

I would like my to get the gaps in my teeth closed, my teeth whitening and slightly shaped. I would also like both top and bottom rows done, apart from my morlars on both rows.
Generally how much do you think this would cost with the following:
a) Cosmetic Bonding
b) Veneers
c) Crowns
Is there anything else you would suggest that would be better for me to do to achieve my aim?

Thank you very much for your time.

Can you use veneers to correct an overbite problem?

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Q.

Hello doctor can you use veneers to correct a problem overbite – I have been advised to have 6 upper veneers and 8 lower venners and to have all the work completed at once ( in a series of visits) as the dentist would be correcting a very problematic overbite and grinding problem. Surely, with this kind of problem would veneers on the front lower teeth be advisable in the first place? and what options do I have for improving the appearance of the lower teeth and to stop the wear ffrom the grinding? Many thanks for your time

Thursday, May 12th, 2011
Q.

Hello doctor,

over the years, grinding my teeth during the night has worn down all my upper teeth to gum level. Can implants be used to replace them, and if not, what alternatives do I have? The thought of false teeth doesnt appeal so would prefer something permenant.I am late fifties and in good health generally. So can you pelase advise me of what courses of treatment are available to myself ! This seems to cover what I wish to ask and I hope you have the time to answer my question. Best wishes and thank you very much.

New veneer is wrong colour compared to existing veneers. Can I get this put right?

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011
Q.

Hi I have four veneers, my front teeth and either side. I had one replaced a few months ago on the nhs because it had been shattered in an accident. the result is a tooth that is a different shade, a different size and a tooth that doesn’t have a glaze like the other veneers. It’s cost me £200 and made me really unhappy about my smile. I’d be happy to pay out and have them put right, but how would I choose the right dentist for the job?? I’ve lost all confidence in mine.
