Should I need to try for new bridges Plz advice

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr. Moore. I have two maryland bridges replacing my eye teeth. They were recently replaced as the ones that I’ve had since I was 14 (I’m now 30) were chipped etc. That being said, the new ones keep popping out. My dentist has used numerous types of cement but it keeps happening. As my roots are too close together for impants (I was born without the teeth) are there any other options for me? Thank you

Should I go for 4 implants or invisible braces Plz suggest

Monday, October 12th, 2009
Q.
Hi, 6 to 7 years ago i had veneers privately done on my front 4 top teeth. i was pleased for the 1st year or 2 but over time they now look awful. i had braces for 4 years (not train tracks) when i was in my early teens as i had a large gap in my teeth and they pointed abit forward and made me look goofy, after time with the braces the 2 front teeth eventually crossed over so went from one extreme to another, i then had braces to stop the crossing and push them back, they soon became straight. after not having the braces on for about 2years i decided i wanted dental veneers as one of the front ones was badly discouloured and i thought they were to long! so i went ahead and had venneers as i said above i was happy at first but now the 2 front teeth have crossed again but even worst they point forward making my lip pertrude slightly!! i never imagined this would happen with vaneers but it has done! also i feel they have slightly come away from my gums with the movement and on close inspection you8 can see a gap and the very top of the veneers have a ruff edge and are black! i smoke around 8 day i realise this hasnt help, but they are now crooked, discoloured and come away from my gums, i really dont know what to do!! do you think 4 implants would be a good idea, i know it would vbe pricey and it very cliche of me to say but all i ever wanted was a perfect hollywood smile, i heard about the invisable braces but im not sure this would be right as i would still have to keep the veneers! please help!!! thanks so much in advance.

Monday, October 12th, 2009
Q.
Hi, due to a medical condition, i have regular MRI scans of my head and spine, as they won’t do these if you have a chance of metal fragments in your body, is it safe to have a dental implant which i was planning? Many thanks

Should I go for implants or bridges Plz suggest

Monday, October 12th, 2009
Q.
I had an apisectomy roughly ten years ago and have 2 caps on my front teeth. However I have been told that the root is still infected and that I require another operation but there is not a high success rate. What other options are available to me? Should I go for implants or a bridge? I would like something that will last me for a longer time and look natural as my caps are very discoloured. Many thanks

What is the success rate for implants on people with gum disease?

Monday, October 12th, 2009
Q.
Dear DOCTOR I suffer with periodontal disease which is controlled and my teeth are not loose. Recently I have had a sharp pain on chewing under a molar that is crowned. Following an x-ray I have been told that there is chronic infection low down irritating the nerve and that the tooth will have to come out. I am an NHS patient but am prepared to pay privately to have an implant which the NHS dentist would do. I am told there is no rush to decide providing the pain is only occasional . Does this mean it will not make me ill if I take my time . Also what is the success rate for implants on people with gum disease and would the infection need to be treated before commencing or is chronic infection something that does not go away.Thankyou

Plz advice on root fracture in tooth

Sunday, October 11th, 2009
Q.
I have a possible root fracture in tooth number 19. I had silver points removed in 2006 and a new root canal. Now I have pressure discomfort and a bump on buccal side of tooth. My Dentist said it might be a root fracture and referred me to Oral Surgeon. I have had 3 root canal procedures on this tooth. 1 in 1973, 1 in 1980 and then the one in 2006. Please advise on what I should do at this point.
