Q.
Dear Dr Moore, I have had a long standing hisotory of dental work, it seems as though my teeth are just crumbling and needing filling in a different place every time. I have pain, tenderness, and severe discolouring. No gum disease or infection though. I have had a tooth removed which im sure now would have been better with root canal. the problem is, I can’t bite on that side, I have a gold crown above the missing tooth and on the other side a very painful filling that I cant bite on, they are all very sensitive to hot and cold. I asked the dentist what could be done, he said that I could have an implant but i’d have to pay for it. I dont have over a thousand pounds, as he said. Should the dentist have told me about the impact it would have before he removed it? He knew the crown was hard to bite with and the situation in the rest of my mouth. I have a few questions, is an implant on the nhs possible? is it possible to get tooth whitening on the nhs if a previous illness or medication has caused this? Same with braces or something similar as I have teeth out of place and really affects my bite. I’m in my 20’s. Hope that wasnt information overload and thanks a lot in advance for helping. Regards
