Coule you advise me on getting crowns/implants in UK or Belgrade?

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr Solanki, I am in the process of investigating replacing 10 metal based crowns and a bridge, for porcelein crowns and two implants, aswell as four new crowns.I am looking at uk prices and the cost of this work in Belgrade, which appears to be half the price. I am anxious to know what I should be looking out for to ensure quality abroad.,

Should i opt for a bridge or implants?

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010
Q.
I have a temporary bridge from 7-10 and had bone graft 7 months ago in 8 & 9 done by an Oral Surgeon in preparation for implant placement. I have lost teeth 8 & 9 a long time ago and had a lot of gum recession. My prosthodontist has referred me to a periodontist because my gums on tooth # 7 has been really red the past few months. The periodontist said I need crown lengthening. She doesn’t recommend placing two implants in teeth 8 & 9 due to esthetic reasons. I am confused because my Oral Surgeon wanted to place implants. Should I just have the bridge done at this point? Thanks.,

What can I have to replace partial denture?

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010
Q.
I am 34 years old and when i was 19 my boyfriend was playing around with a gun and it accidentally went off in my mouth and shot 4 of my teeth out…..at the time they thought it was agood idea to give me implants after the procedure was done they said it wasnt a good idea because i had lost so much bone and gum so i have been living with a partial for 16 years. It is miserable and humiliating and I have not smiled in a photo since i was 19 i know that it is going to be expensive but if i just know in my head that SOMETHING can be done would make me feel better. I would save for it for the next 15 years if i have to. Its caused relationship problems, me being insecure and total humiliation……please tell me what i can do besides these ugly embarrasing partials my dentist has always told me there is nothing i can do and i refuse to believe that with todays technology there has to be something. Please help me im desperate>,

I had a bad experience abroad and how need treatment to fix this

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010
Q.
Hello Doctor! I had 16 implants done in poland also I had 2 sinus lifts I was never given a price by the dentist but my friend assured me it would be about 16 thousand pounds and I know now this is reasnoble unfortunatly I had only 20 thousand pounds and to carry on with the bridge work it would be another 15 thousand so I was left for over a year as I could not carry on as I had no money left but I felt the dentist should have gave me some kind of consultation which he did not I never even got a receit for any work carried out anyway I was left with an old plate on the upper arch of my mouth and nothing on the lower half I have now found a good dentist here that is willing to help me out but there has been a lot of damage down due to the time scale and some implants have ben affected plus he has to give me another sinus lift on the left hand side the total cost would be another 30 thousand pounds which I dont have but have managed to get 10 thousand pounds so he has offered me the choice to utilising some of the implants and giving me a clip in denture which was not my dream but after going about with no teeth for nearly two years I have to go with this suggestion and that sounds ok but could I ask for what way I would like them to look? as they are all together? and would it be possible to have them in porcalin and not acylic? what would you do and if posible to go for porcalin would this make a serious diference in the price if so how much? sorry for all this it’s just I am very vunurable and shy and when I go to see m dentist I won’t ask these questions I’m 52 years old but had a serious eating disorder for nearly 30 years although I am fine now I’m at my wits end with all that has happened and would be very gratefull if you could get back to me in fact it would help me you’ll never now how much I know your time is precious but after all that has hapened and all the money I have spent well it would be 30 thousand I’m no way a wealthy lady and had to get a bank loan but if you could get back to me it would mean the world to me regards mary bradley,

Can you advise me on teeth loss due to periodontal disease?

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010
Q.
I suffer from periodontal disease and have already last 2 teeth. I have bone loss as a result of the disease. My periodontist tells me that I could not have implants as I have lost too much bone and I worry that I have had too much bone loss for dentures to be a possible option. My periodontist tells me that they do not work very well for people with periodontal disease. Unfortunately this was not explained to me 20 years ago when I started treatment or I could have made the decision to have the effected teeth extracted then. My front teeth do not seem to be too badly effected, it is mainly my molars one of which is quite mobile. Can you offer me any advice, I am 52 and I feel that my face is aging prematurely because of this problem and I worry about being without teeth at what, these days, is a relatively young age.,

Can I have braces if I get implants first?

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010
Q.
I am 36 and recently started dental work, I have a dental phobia which I am trying to overcome and due to this I didn’t go for around 20 years, I have a crowded upper arch and have been told I may need sarpe, also I have an underbite so may also need Lefort/Bsso surgery to realign my arches. I have lost my bottom right, second molar as my wisdom grew into it and damaged it, it did sit in front of the wisdom tooth, both my lower wisdoms have been pulled ready to clear space for bsso I believe. The question I ask is I need braces to align my teeth before surgery, can my bottom arch still be fitted with a brace as now it’s in effect, loopsided, one extra tooth on one side, also if I have an implant can that be braced, or is this fitted after all the brace work? Thanks for your help, sorry for the long question.,
